‘Why do we keep putting pressure on ourselves?’ – These Bradford fans react as club record win against Crawley

Bradford City moved up to second in League Two this evening with a win against Crawley at Valley Parade.

Gary Bowyer’s side looked to be cruising for much of the encounter, although Crawley weren’t going to simply roll over and die. A first half goal by Harry Pritchard gave the Bantams the lead, with Danny Devine adding a second after the break to put his side in full control.

From a position of power, Bradford began to retreat and the visitors crept into the game. Reece Grego-Cox gave the Red Devils hope with nine minutes to go, before the visitors began to lay siege to Bradford’s goal.

When the final whistle came it was met with a huge sigh of relief as much as anything; the Bradford City of 12 months ago would have lost that game in the final ten minutes, but through resilience and luck they managed to pick up all three points.

As for Crawley, those who travelled can take heart from the fact they were competitive and, on another afternoon, could have come away with all three points. Instead, it’s Bowyer’s Bantams who steal a march in the promotion hunt.

It’s delighted their fans too, as you’ll read below.
