Bradford City have swooped to sign former Blackburn Rovers man Chris Taylor, a player who has been on trial with the club for a while.
As reported by the BBC, the 32-year-old is a free agent and has signed for Gary Bowyer’s side on a short term deal.
Taylor has previously played for Blackburn, Millwall and Oldham, but was released by Bowyer’s former side Blackpool this summer. The Bantams’ boss signed him for the Seasiders last year and worked with him during his time at Ewood Park.
“I am over the moon to be here, it has been a very long time coming,” said the winger. “I play with my heart on my sleeve and give 110 per-cent each and every time I step on the pitch. I cannot wait to pull on the shirt.”
Taylor came through the youth ranks at Oldham Athletic, going on to make 285 appearances for thems before a move to Millwall. He later spent two seasons with Blackburn in the Championship before heading to Blackpool via Bolton.
Bowyer is delighted to have got the deal done, especially as the Bantams are in the grip of a mini injury crisis.
“Chris comes in at a good time for us, after injuries for Matty Palmer, Jamie Devitt and Jordan Gibson,” he said.
“He gives us more options, as he can play anywhere in midfield and just off the front. Chris will bring a wealth of experience and provides great quality from set pieces.”
Whilst some Bantams fans have welcomed his arrival, supporters of former club Bolton have had their say, with less than complimentary responses coming from the League One side.
