Three EFL fixtures you have to have on your accumulator this weekend

Southend v AFC Wimbledon DRAW or BTTS

Only a bold gambler puts money on a game to be drawn, but if ever the shares were to be spoiled it is in the clash between two of the bottom three.

Neither side have had the winning feeling often, both have triumphed just once. Wimbledon beat Rochdale this weekend to get their first win, whilst Southend’s solitary victory came against MK Dons on their travels. With no victories at home for the home team and no success away for the visitors, this promises to be a draw.

Between them, they’ve conceded 51 goals in 23 matches and neither looks capable of stopping the other one scoring. If you’re not brave enough to take it as a draw, it’s a banker for both teams to score and perhaps even over 2.5 goals.

In away games this season Wimbledon’s xG against has been a whopping 2.33, whilst Southend’s xG against at home has been 1.79. Both are expected to concede goals, so the big question is whether the other team can capitalise. Wimbledon have scored and conceded in their last six matches, whilst Southend have kept one clean sheet in 15 matches.

There will be goals, there will be excitement and ultimately, there will be disappointment as neither side draws any closer to safety.
