Walsall lost 3-0 at home to EFL newcomers Salford City on Saturday in a poor performance at the Bescot.
Goals from Armstrong, Jervis and Touray condemned the Saddlers to their third home league defeat of the season and gave the Ammies their first-ever EFL away victory.
Darrell Clarke’s men now sit fifteenth in League Two after to struggling to find their form following last season’s relegation. Despite an entire squad revamp and a new manager it appears the problems that dogged them last year have not gone away. The Saddlers looked weak at the back and ineffective going forward in a display that halted in its tracks a run of four straight wins in all competitions and saw many fans heading for the exit with twenty minutes still to play.
Plenty of Walsall fans were not happy when they took to social media to react to the result with many describing the performance as embarrassing and signs of growing discontent with the manager apparent. Walsall do have the makings of a decent League Two side, but some supporters feel Clarke’s tactics and team selection is holding the side back.
However, there were plenty of fans calling for patience and perspective and offering support to the manager.
Here is a small selection of response to the result on Twitter.

Fans seem more bothered that the bar was rammed at the start of the game than the actual match. If that's anything to go by then đź‘‹ goodbye league #walsallfc #Saddlers
