Lincoln City announced a new third kit this afternoon, with a strong Lincolnshire theme.
Using the colours and design of the Lincolnshire flag, they’ve brought out a limited edition shirt with a charity element. They’re donating ยฃ5 from each of the 500 sold to charity, as well as auctioning off the match-worn shirts once they’ve been used three times.
Whilst that’s a grand gesture from the club, the kit aficionados have been keen to pass judgement. The Imps took a huge amount of stick last season for producing a home shirt that looked an awful lot like a Kwik Save bag, with this year’s away kit also being the subject of some criticism for being too bland.
That’s not the case with this latest offering. In striking colours with a keen attention to detail, it looks like being a big seller. Not only is it eye-catching, simple and relevant, but the charity angle also adds to its appeal, which is likely to be widespread.
Fans will have to be quick though; there are a limited number available and already these Twitter users are reporting that they’ve bought it up or had it ordered for them
