‘See ya later Kenny, we won’t miss ya’ – These Portsmouth fans react to speculation over manager’s future

The resignation of Neil Harris at Millwall has led to speculation linking Portsmouth manager Kenny Jackett with a return to his old club as reported by Portsmouth News.

Jackett spent six years in charge at the New Den and guided Millwall to League One promotion via the Playoffs in 2009. He also oversaw the Lions run to an FA Cup Semi-final in 2013, losing to the eventual winners Wigan Athletic at Wembley.

The fifty-seven-year-old has recently been under pressure at Portsmouth after a stuttering start to the campaign that many Portsmouth fans expected to end in promotion. They currently sit nineteenth in League One after registering only two league wins all season, and many Pompey fans feel like it is time for a change in the Fratton Park manager’s office.

However, the speculation has arisen from nothing more than the bookies placing Jackett’s name on the odds list for the vacant managerial position at his old club, but this did not stop plenty of Pompey fans taking to social media to comment.

It would appear many are hoping there is something in the story, with few fans offering any support for their under-fire boss. Indeed it seems some would be delighted if he left.

Here is a selection of responses to the speculation on Twitter.
