Leyton Orient have announced Ross Embleton has stepped down from his position as interim head coach.
The thirty-seven-year-old will revert to his old role of the assistant coach after steadying the ship following the tragic death of Justin Edinburgh in June. He led the O’s to two wins, and four draws from the ten League Two games he took charge and although the East London outfit sits twenty-first in the League Two table five points above the relegation places, most fans were ready to heap praise on Embleton for taking the reins in such difficult circumstances and bringing stability back to the club.
Edinburgh guided the O’s back to the EFL last season, and his tragic passing plunged the club into a period of grief. The fact Embleton decided to guide the team in those circumstances was not lost on Leyton Orient fans when they took to social media to react to the news despite some difficult results, culminating in Saturday’s 2-1 defeat at Colchester United.
Respect and thanks are the keywords that stand out from the reaction as the club now looks to appoint a new boss to take the great old club forward.
The club statement confirmed Embleton would continue to manage the team until a replacement is appointed.
