‘Doesn’t look very Injured to me!’ – These Ipswich fans react as injured striker takes part in a charity wrestling event

Ipswich Town striker James Norwood achieved a childhood dream last night by taking part in a charity wrestling match despite concerns over a recent injury.

Norwood was taken off in the thirty-fifth minute of Town’s 1-0 win at MK Dons on Tuesday night with manager Paul Lambert later explaining his five-goal forward was suffering from a sore groin.

However, Norwood didn’t seem to be struggling when performing the famed ‘rock bottom’ move in the ring as video and pictures emerged of the night, which was part of the ‘Norwood Mania’ charity event for Cancer Research UK organised by Harwich-based company International Pro Wrestling.

Norwood was invited to take part in the event after his WWE goal celebration GIFs caught the attention of wrestling legend The Rock and went viral on Twitter.

Fans of the Tractor Boys soon took to social media to react to the sight of their valuable marksman achieve his dream. Most seemed good-natured and were keen to point out one of their key players didn’t look injured at all, with some speculating tongue in cheek that maybe he faked his injury to make sure he was fully fit to perform classic WWE moves from his childhood like the ‘people’s elbow’ and the ‘Stone Cold.’

Here is a selection of responses to the sight of Norwood in the ring on Twitter.
