Southend United have not had a great start to their 2019/20 campaign.

The Shrimpers are well and truly in the doldrums after losing eight of their first nine games of the season across all competitions in a dreadful run of form that is already threatening their League One existence.

The tension between the club and its supporters was ramped up on Tuesday night when under-fire manager Kevin Bond flatly refused to carry out any media duties after he watched his lacklustre team suffer their latest defeat in a 2-0 reverse against League Two Leyton Orient in the EFL Trophy.

The Blues are without a fixture this week due to the international break affecting Portsmouth’s squad, and with rumours chairman, Ron Martin is returning from holiday this week, many fans were hopeful the club would soon be announcing the dismissal of the former assistant of Harry Redknapp.

However, the latest club announcement advertising the availability of hospitality packages for their next fixture at Roots Hall against Fleetwood Town only served to increase the anger amongst some supporters.
