Wycombe Wanderers have perhaps pulled off the coup of the day by taking Newcastle man Roland Aarons to Adams Park on a six-month loan deal.
Aarons spent the second part of last season on loan at Sheffield Wednesday, scoring once in nine matches. He’s previously enjoyed loan spells with Hellas Verona in Serie A, as well as Slovan Liberec in the Czech Republic.
Somehow, Gareth Ainsworth has secured a deal to take him from St James Park to Wycombe of League One, a move which is sure to surprise many football commentators and pundits.

Aarons has made 18 Premier League appearances and has been capped by England at Under 20 level. He’s surely Championship quality, but he joins a side level on points with four teams in second place in League One.
He’ll go straight into their squad for the early top-of-the-table clash with Lincoln City this weekend.
It’s fair to say the response across the division has been one of surprise, with Aarons capture viewed as a big coup amongst almost everyone commenting on Twitter.
How on earth have you done that then

No one deserves it more than Ainsworth. Spent years working miracles with no money
