Blackpool are poised to sign Bradford City winger Sean Scannell as reported by Football Insider.
The report claims the twenty-eight-year-old is in advanced talks at Bloomfield Road and a deal is likely to be completed today.
Reporter Pete O’Rourke suggests Tangerines boss Simon Grayson is a big admirer of Scannell having worked with the versatile attacker during his time in charge of Huddersfield Town.
Scannell joined Bradford from the Terriers last summer, but injury problems have blighted his progress at Valley Parade. He’s made twenty-four appearances in total for the Bantams which includes three starts this campaign, but according to the report the former Crystal Palace man is keen to move up a division and be reunited with Grayson.
The Republic of Ireland at Under-21 international has made just over three hundred appearances in the Championship and is reportedly a top target of Grayson who wants to bolster his attacking options and build a squad capable of challenging for League One Promotion.
Our View
A signing that will be announced very shortly with social media rumours doing the rounds that Scannell has already been photographed holding the famous tangerine shirt aloft.
Many Bradford fans will be happy to see the back of Scannell, they criticised his commitment and attitude while they struggled last year.
On the face of it, a decent signing for Blackpool, whose fans will be hoping the winger recaptures the form he showed under Grayson at Huddersfield.
They will also be hoping he stays fit, something that seems to have become a problem for the talented player in recent years.
