Oxford United’s dismal start to the season continued as they were soundly beaten 3-1 away at Bristol Rovers.
Karl Robinson’s side have found the opening fixtures difficult, with just four points from their opening five matches. Today was a chance to get a result against a side tipped to be in the bottom half, but Ben Woodburn’s opening effort was a mere consolation in the scheme of things.
The home side levelled through former MK Dons midfielder Ed Upson, before Jonson Clarke-Harris bagged with just seconds left of the half. Oxford’s misery was compounded on 77 minutes when Tom Nichols netted a rare strike.
The result leaves Oxford in 17th, but crucially it was also met with a lot of anger from supporters on Twitter. Karl Robinson’s side struggled last season and only pulled away from the bottom four in the final month or so.
Unless things pick up quickly, they could find themselves in yet another battle, something that will increase pressure on the 38-year-old.
These fans expressed their anger on Twitter, but they were fuelled by a rather embarrassing claim by the visitors official Twitter feed.

Won't play many worse teams than Rovers this season and they beat us comfortably. Why did the new signings come so late? Plan ahead
