Tranmere have added to their striker options with the capture of Walsall’s Morgan Ferrier for an undisclosed fee, as revealed by their official site.
The 24-year-old has previously plied his trade in the National League with Boreham Wood and Dagenham having been with Arsenal as a youth, as well as Watford and Nottingham Forest.
His most prolific season came when he scored 14 in 37 outings for Boreham Wood, then rejoining them to score seven in 15 before moving to Walsall. His move to the Saddlers was controversial with his agent accused of bullying them to get the deal over the line.
He struggled for form last season, scoring just six times in 39 outings for Dean Keates side as they were relegated. He’s made it clear he wanted a transfer following their slide into League Two and was left out of their squad for a pre-season trip to Poland.
Whilst some Tranmere fans have welcomed him to the club, a larger number of Walsall supporters have made their feelings very clear; they’re delighted to have got rid.
