‘Shows how far we have fallen as a club’ – These Coventry City fans react to latest club news

As we covered earlier, Lincoln City are on the verge of signing Nottingham Forest striker Tyler Walker on a season-long loan deal.

Walker is hot property right now after bagging 22 goals in 44 matches for Mansfield Town last season. He almost fired them to automatic promotion, with the Stags only missing out on the last day in a ‘winner takes all’ encounter with MK Dons.

He returned to forest over the summer and was handed a chance with the first team, but boss Sabri Lamouchi has sanctioned a loan move. Walker has been the focus of attention for a number of clubs, with up to ten teams thought to have wanted him.

Twitter has been alight with Coventry City fans believing they’d signed the 22-year-old. Boss Mark Robins admitted he was targeting Walker a couple of weeks ago, but has now been forced to admit defeat.

Coventry, who won the FA Cup in 1987 and had almost half a century as a top-flight club, are a big side in League One but have not been able to tempt their target away from a side who have only been in the third tier once in three decades.

That’s something that doesn’t impress Sky Blues supporters, as you’ll read below.

  1. The thing is, Robin’s wanted to buy him. He wasn’t for sale, so he went out on loan. I’m gutted he’s gone out on loan tbh. He’s one of our own, we the fans want him to have his chance. He deserves it after last season. FTID
