Forest striker Lincoln City bound according to local journalist

Tyler Walker is set to join Lincoln City, according to Nottingham Post journalist Paul Taylor.

Taylor’s tweeted that the twenty-two-year-old is poised to join on loan but added that the deal is still not completed.

The news will be a blow to Coventry City who’ve shown a keen interest in the striker in recent weeks but will be welcomed by Lincoln City fans after last week’s departure of club ‘legend’ Matt Rhead left them short of forward options.

Walker spent last season on loan at Mansfield Town and notched up an impressive twenty-six goals in fifty-two appearances across all competitions for the Stags.

Forest boss Sabri Lamouchi had given the young striker a chance to impress in pre-season but now feels his development would be better served with another season away from the City Ground according to Taylor’s report following up his tweet in the Nottingham Post.

Walker has made thirty-eight outings for Forest but looks to have become increasingly on the periphery of the club’s plans after signing a new long-term contract in 2017, which tied him to the City Ground until 2021.

Taylor claims in his article the deal could be another season-long loan.

Our View

Walker would be a tremendous signing and a further signal that Cowley will continue to develop his team’s style away from the direct approach they are often unfairly labelled with during their first season in League One for thirty years.

Lincoln fans will be holding their breath until they receive confirmation.

They know Coventry will not give up easily and will also be aware Doncaster Rovers are cash-rich and looking for a striker after the sale of John Marquis.
