Tranmere Rovers have had a bid accepted by Walsall for striker Morgan Ferrier according to local journalist Joseph Masi.
Masi covers Walsall for the Express and Star, and he’s tweeted that Tranmere is the club leading the chase for the signature of the twenty-four-year-old after recent reports emerged claiming Walsall had accepted a bid for the striker from an unnamed club.

Ferrier was expected to leave the Bescot this summer after being left at home for the club’s pre-season trip to Poland. He made thirty-three League One appearances for the Saddlers last time out, notching up five goals as the West Midlands outfit suffered relegation to League Two.
He began his career at Nottingham Forest before drifting into non-league. After spells at Hemel, Bishop’s Stortford and Dagenham, he ended up at Boreham Wood for a second time where is good form persuaded Walsall to give him a chance in the EFL, signing him last summer for a fee believed to be around £35,000 on a two-year contract with the option of a further twelve months.
According to the Express and Star, Ferrier said goodbye to his teammates this morning, and if Masi is correct, Birkenhead will be his destination.
Our View
Many Walsall fans will not be unhappy at Ferrier’s departure, claiming he is a talented player with a rotten attitude.
Tranmere boss Micky Mellon is looking for goals after James Norwood’s departure, but according to plenty of Walsall fans, he will need all his considerable man-management skills to get the best out of Ferrier.
Also noted for his ego, personal terms have been an issue for the striker before, so until this potential deal is confirmed, there are no guarantees it will go through.
