Wolves boss confirms loan move likely for Coventry transfer target

Coventry City target Bright Enobakhare was omitted from Wolves eighteen man squad to face Crusaders in the Europa League last night and boss Nuno Espirito Santo said after the match it was likely the playmaker would once again go out on loan next season.

The news is a boost for Coventry City who have been trying to sign the twenty-one-year-old since he enjoyed an eye-catching loan spell with the Sky Blues in the second half of 2018/19. Coventry have tabled a bid in the region of £600,000 to try and land the exciting youngster on a permanent deal but have so far failed in their attempts to sign their top summer transfer target.

It now looks more likely a loan move would be preferable for the Premier League club after Nuno told the Coventry Telegraph; ‘As you all know there will be players going out again on loan because we think that is better for their careers.’

‘Bright did well in Coventry. (He will go) If there’s a right place for him to keep on growing and improving as a player.’

Championship side Birmingham City are also reportedly interested in Enobakhare who signed a one-year contract extension with Wolves following his impressive spell for Coventry, with reports suggesting Wolves are keen to extend this further and continue to monitor his development.

Our View

While the news is a boost for Coventry, it is clear it is not a foregone conclusion that Enobakhare will return.

If Championship clubs are interested, Wolves might consider his development is better served at a higher level.

Sky Blues fans and boss Mark Robins are desperate to see him in a sky blue shirt once again, but our feeling is the talented forward may well end up in the Championship in 2019/20.
