‘Way too good for League 2’ – Plenty of supporters react as Cheltenham pull off a huge coup

Cheltenham Town upped the ante with transfer coups yesterday by pulling off a move for former Fulham midfielder Rohan Ince.

He’s signed a one-year contract at Whaddon Road and becomes their fourth signing of a busy summer so far.

The powerful midfielder has previously had spells with Fulham, Brighton, Swindon Town, Bury and Yeovil in the Championship and League One, starting out life as a trainee at Stamford Bridge.

He played 72 times for Brighton in the Championship, but couldn’t make the step up to the Premier League. Injuries have blighted his progress since then, but he clearly made an impression in the loan spells he’s enjoyed since Brighton’s promotion.

Swindon Town fans in particular are surprised that the Robins have pulled off this move. Ince seems to be a step or two above League Two, which forms the basis of much of the feedback appearing on Twitter this morning.

This is almost certainly the most eye-catching move of the summer in League Two, even more so than Stevenage’s kit release
