Walsall have secured the signing of forward Elijah Adebayo from Fulham, as reported by their official website.
The 21-year-old has previously enjoyed loan spells with Cheltenham and Swindon, racking up 34 Football league appearances. He scored five time in 30 matches for Swindon during a loan spell last season.
He’s happy to be on board, telling saddlers.co.uk; “I am very excited to get going with the club.
“It’s always a bit different when you are on loan but I can now call this place my home and try to do as much as I can for Walsall.
“The manager has told me to be myself, play with a lot of confidence and belief, and to just try and get as many goals as possible.”
His loan spell with Swindon ended when manager Richie Wellens terminated it early, claiming poor performance and being late for training contributed to the decision.
He went back out to Stevenage, but only played twice as they challenged for a top seven spot. That hasn’t bothered Saddler boss Darrell Clarke, who seemed delighted to bag the 6ft 4in forward.
“Elijah has got the attributes to be a top-class player and will certainly give us some strength up top,” he said.
“He’s quick, technically good, can win headers and run in behind. He’s got all the tools.”
Fans have been reacting on Twitter to the move, with a mixture of excitement and apprehension.
Love the fact we’re getting faces through the door and not going to judge the lad at all but do we really need another forward compared to other areas we have no cover for?
Not that I don’t have faith in Clarke to fill those voids.— Dylan (@Dylan_WFC) June 25, 2019
And another then come on

Although I’m not going to judge as I don’t know anything about him but I’m hoping this isn’t cooks replacement

For 6’4 he is very poor in the air. Struggles to time his jumps. Isn’t as physical as he should be given his frame. Much better with the ball at his feet. With right coaching he has potential but surprised he’s got a gig at Walsall.

Thought he was good but shocking in the air

6ft 4 and can’t win one head.
Remember one game he jumped about 3 seconds early for the ball and the player around 5ft 8 got it ?
Must have a very good agent— Swindon_Live (@Swindon_Live) June 25, 2019
Might be alright with better players around him? but he wasn’t good last season.
