Liam Kinsella has signed a new contract to stay at Walsall FC.
The popular midfielder was one of the few players to emerge from last season’s relegation disappointment with any credit, making thirty-nine appearances across all competitions and winning the 2018/19 Young Player of the Season award.
The twenty-three-year-old also won Goal of the Season for his fantastic FA Cup winner at Sunderland and Community Player of the Year for his outstanding contribution to the local area.
Kinsella was one of only two of last season’s squad to be offered new terms and has agreed to stay with the Saddlers despite interest from League One clubs.
The announcement ends speculation linking Kinsella with a move down the M6 to Coventry.
Walsall fans soon took to social media to delight in the news the tireless midfielder had pledged his future to the club with some suggesting it is now time for Clarke to build his new team around the Republic of Ireland Under-21 international for next season’s League Two campaign.
