‘What a beast!’ – Delighted Shrewsbury Town fans react to latest signing

Shrewsbury Town have signed Aaron Pierre from Northampton Town for an undisclosed fee.

The Twenty-six-year-old penned a three-year deal and became Salop’s fourth signing of the summer following the arrival of Ethan Ebanks-Landell, Steve Morison and Daniel Udoh.

The former Wycombe Wanderers defender joined Northampton in 2017 and was about to enter the final year of his contract at Sixfields.

Pierre was a rock at the heart of the Cobblers’ defence last season, making forty-five appearances across all competitions for the League Two outfit. He also proved himself proficient at the top end of the pitch, chipping in with an impressive eight goals. A firm fans favourite at Sixfields, Pierre capped an outstanding campaign by scooping the club’s Player of the Season award.

His performances attracted the attention of clubs higher up the EFL, and it was recently reported that Shrewsbury had made a bid for the Grenada International.

Shrewsbury fans soon took to social media to revel in the signing of Pierre with many Cobblers fans quick to point out what an excellent player the Shrews now had in their ranks.
