‘Looks like 8-1-1 formation for next season’ – These Bradford City fans react to latest signing

Bradford City have made their sixth summer signing following the arrival of defender Adam Henley to the Northern Commercials Stadium on a one-year contract.

The twenty-five-year-old has recently been playing in the MLS with Real Salt Lake but has the experience of Premier League and Championship football with Blackburn Rovers having spent six years at Ewood Park between 2011 and 2017.

The full-back worked with Gary Bowyer at Blackburn and has two caps for Wales.

Henley is the fourth of Bradford’s six signings so far to be a defender with the others being a goalkeeper and a winger and this was not lost on many Bantams fans when they took to social media to comment on the club’s latest recruit.

Indeed, Bowyer had recently stated that he wanted fierce competitors in his squad having identified the physical nature of the game in League Two when he watched the playoff final between Newport County and Tranmere Rovers at Wembley.

Much of the reaction to the signing was positive but many Bantams fans certainly seem to be recognising a theme in Bowyer’s signings so far, here is a selection of their responses to the latest news on Twitter.
