Keith Hill is the current favourite for the Bury job, as reported by Alan Nixon of the Sun.
The former Rochdale boss is top of the list of possible targets, but any move will be reliant on chairman Steve Dale being able to strike a deal with debtors. Nixon reports the unpopular owner is currently trying to get those owed money to take less, thus avoiding administration.
If they can do that, then Hill is the man allegedly wanted at Gigg Lane. He left Rochdale for a second time during the season after struggling to find the form that made him a legend at Spotland.
In his first spell with the club he led them out of the basement division and into League One after a long absence. That earned him a shot at the Barnsley job, but he failed at Oakwell and soon returned to Dale where he once again earned them promotion to the third-tier.
He was dismissed in March with the club 22nd in League One, a move which saw them eventually move into a position of safety once again.
Our View
This could be an interesting move for Bury if they can pull it off. It’s hard for their supporters to focus on anything other than their current struggles, but a move for hill would give them something to look forward to, albeit a small gain after the huge loss of Ryan Lowe.
Hill went stale at Rochdale, but there was a time his name was synonymous with lower-level success. For Bury, simply kicking off next season with their club intact will be classed as a success.

We want dale pot of bury
If we get Keith and get Dale out then I would class that as a success. We need stability and to get Keith would give us a manager that would be able to take forward.
could be a good move for Hill. Hope bury get sold first?
