‘Class Mr chairman!’ – These delighted Peterborough fans react to latest signing

Peterborough United chairman Darragh MacAntoney has tweeted the confirmation experienced central defender Mark Beevers has signed for the club.

Beevers is a free agent when his contract at troubled Bolton Wanderers expires next month, and he has penned a three-year deal at London Road on a free transfer.

The commanding defender has played over two hundred games in the Championship and recently experienced promotion from League One when he starred in Bolton’s 2016/2017 promotion campaign helping the club to twenty clean sheets.

The twenty-nine-year-old is also dangerous from set-pieces contributing seven goals in their League One promotion season and even managing four in their doomed Championship campaign of 2018/2019.

Reports suggest Peterborough fought off competition from several EFL club’s and Scottish Premier giants Rangers to land Beevers in what is a real statement of intent signing for Posh. Bolton fans will no doubt suggest he struggled in the last couple of seasons in the championship, but there is little doubt he will be a massive player at league One level next season.

MacAnthoney’s tweet prompted a delighted reaction from Peterborough United fans on Twitter.
