As the transfer window is still two months away, we thought we’d look at four players who are still without a club deep into the current season and who, if they wanted to, your club could sign right now.

The free agent market has already proven to be incredibly successful for some clubs. Jason Shackell signed for Lincoln City from being a free agent and he’s been excellent, whereas over at Bury Nicky Maynard has certainly been banging in the goals.

Northampton Town are now looking at former Wolves midfielder Karl Henry, meaning there’s plenty of players out there waiting to be snapped up and make a difference for you.

Jay Emmanuel Thomas

Quite how Thomas is still without a club, we don’t know. The powerful forward was last on the books of Queens Park Rangers, but spent his youth at Arsenal. For a while he looked to be the complete forward, quick and strong with a huge future ahead of him.

He’s now 27 and aside from links with Billericay in the summer, he doesn’t have a club. If your side are lacking a presence up front and have a bit left on the wage budget, he’d make a great acquisition.

He has 65 goals in 279 senior appearances as well as England honours at Under 17 and Under 19 level.
