A revitalised Sheffield United welcome promotion chasing Stoke City to Bramall Lane on Saturday in a potentially crucial Championship fixture.
Our Three Predictions For Sheffield United vs Stoke City
- First Prediction:Â Match Result – Draw – 23/10
- Second Prediction:Â Both Teams To Score – 17/20
- Third Prediction:Â Sorba Thomas To Score Anytime – 39/10
First Prediction For Sheffield United vs Stoke City – Match Result – Draw – 23/10
Sheffield United have found a bit of form as of late and are unbeaten in 4. This includes 3 wins on the bounce, having beaten rivals Sheffield Wednesday, Portsmouth and Leicester City.
As a result, the Blades have moved out of the relegation places, although they remain within touching distance of the bottom 3. That win over Pompey was their first at Bramall Lane since a 1-0Â victory over Watford in mid-October. Since then, they have lost to Derby County whilst they picked up a point against Queens Park Rangers.
Stoke remain in the hunt for promotion but their recent form has seen them fall 3 points behind second-placed Middlesbrough. The Potters have lost 3 of their last 4, the last of which saw them fall to a 2-1 defeat against Hull City right at the death.
Second Prediction For Sheffield United vs Stoke City – Both Teams To Score – 17/20
On paper, this seems an absurd prediction. The 2 teams sit bottom of the table in this market, with just 39% of their fixtures seeing both teams score. However, Sheffield United’s resurgence changes this somewhat.
The Blades have well and truly found their scoring boots under Chris Wilder, having scored just once during the ill-fated tenure of Ruben Selles at the beginning of the season. They’ve failed to find the back of the net just once in their last 9 games, which was the 0-0 draw with Queens Park Rangers last month.
Despite that, they have conceded 28 times in 18 games this season. However, this does include 3 clean sheets in their last 4.
Stoke are a team pushing for promotion and they will be confident they can breach their opponents back line at least once. Their 3 recent defeats have seen them score in 2, although they did deserve something out of the game in their 1-0 loss against Coventry City.
Third Prediction For Sheffield United vs Stoke City – Sorba Thomas To Score Anytime – 39/10
Sorba Thomas joined Stoke in the summer from Huddersfield Town, fresh off the back of season-long loan with French top flight outfit Nantes. Whilst his time across the English Channel wasn’t a resounding success, it’s fair to say that he has started life at the bet365 Stadium with a bang.
The 26-year-old has been a mainstay in Mark Robins’ side and showed his class from the off, scoring 2 and assisting 3 in his opening 3 games. He’s shown no signs of slowing down since though, with his goal contributions for the campaign hitting 13 in 18 appearances.
The versatile attacker hot 2 goals and an assist in the recent 3-0 win over Charlton Athletic, although his stunner against Hull City at the weekend wasn’t enough to prevent a 2-1 defeat.

Full Preview Of The Game: Last Results And Head-To-Head:
After an utterly dreadful start to the season under Ruben Selles, Sheffield United seem to have found their rhythm in recent weeks. The returning Chris Wilder has steadied the ship and they head into this game in the midst of a 4-game unbeaten run.
This was kickstarted by a 0-0 draw with Queens Park Rangers at Bramall Lane just before the international break, but the return to action a fortnight later saw them pick up the city bragging rights with a comfortable 3-0 victory over Sheffield Wednesday. The Blades then beat Portsmouth by the same scoreline 3 days later.
Although they picked up another 3 points at the weekend, it was quite as clear sailing. The Yorkshire-based team raced into a 3-goal lead away at Leicester City, but the Foxes hit back in the second half with 2 goals of their own. However, United held firm, moving up to 19th as a result.
After years in the bottom half of the Championship, Mark Robins appears to be installing a bit of optimism back into the Stoke faithful. although recent form has dipped, they still remain fourth and just 3 points off the automatic promotion places.
A 1-0 defeat before the international break to fellow promotion challengers Coventry City was harsh, with their showing deserving at least a point. The 2 week break didn’t help though, and they fell to a 2-1 reverse to Leicester upon a return to the field.
The Potters did recover to brush Charlton Athletic aside 3-0 a few days later, but they will be disappointed with last weekend’s outcome. A Sorba Thomas stunner gave them the lead against Hull City at the bet365 Stadium, but second half goals from Semi Ajayi and Joe Gelhardt saw the Tigers leave Staffordshire with the points.
Sheffield United have won the last 3 meetings between the pair, including their latest clash in April. Stoke haven’t won at Bramall Lane since 2007, although it’s worth pointing out that they were in different divisions between 2008 and 2018.
Overall, the Blades have the stronger record in this fixture, winning 46 of the previous 112 clashes. Stoke have emerged victorious 36 times, whilst the two have played out 30 draws, the last of which came in 2019.
