Sheffield United are among four Championship clubs reportedly chasing Amario Cozier-Duberry, with West Bromwich Albion, Bristol City, and Preston North End also weighing up January approaches for the in-form Brighton & Hove Albion winger.
Currently on loan at Bolton Wanderers, the 20-year-old has been one of League One’s standout players, delivering 6 goals and 7 assists in just 15 appearances for the Trotters.
Championship Clubs On Alert
According to the Yorkshire Post, Sheffield United have been long-term admirers of Cozier-Duberry and could move when the transfer window opens if Brighton activate the January break clause in his Bolton loan.

However, sources suggest the Seagulls are pleased with his progress and not actively seeking to recall him mid-season.
The winger’s performances have earned widespread attention across the EFL, with West Brom, Bristol City, and Preston North End all monitoring his situation. Each of the Championship clubs is believed to view him as an affordable attacking option with potential resale value and the ability to make an immediate impact.
At Bolton, Cozier-Duberry has thrived in an advanced wide role, combining pace and directness with the technical polish honed during his time in Arsenal’s academy. His ability to beat defenders 1-on-1 and his sharp delivery from wide positions have been central to Bolton’s strong start, leaving Brighton encouraged by his development in a competitive, high-pressure environment.

‘Unplayable’ Talent Drawing Comparisons
The London-born winger came through Arsenal’s youth system, where former academy coach Jack Wilshere described him as “sometimes unplayable” and even drew comparisons to Bukayo Saka.
“His super-strengths are his ball-carrying and ability to take people on,” Wilshere told The Athletic. “He reminds me of Bukayo Saka, plays in the same position, and when he’s in full flow, he can make things happen out of nothing.”
That attacking flair could make him an ideal fit for Chris Wilder’s side, who have lacked consistent creativity from wide areas since returning to the Championship. United’s current options, including Chiedozie Ogbene, have yet to find consistent form, while the club remains short of natural left-footed wingers capable of stretching the pitch.

A January deal would depend on Brighton’s willingness to sanction a recall and the player’s desire for a fresh challenge. Cozier-Duberry’s versatility—comfortable on either flank or as an attacking midfielder—adds to his appeal for clubs seeking dynamic offensive depth during the second half of the season.
As the race for his signature heats up, Brighton’s stance will likely determine whether Championship clubs can tempt them into a recall. For Sheffield United, desperate to inject pace and unpredictability into their forward line, Cozier-Duberry could represent exactly the kind of inspired mid-season addition needed to reignite their campaign.
