Our Three Predictions For Swindon Town v Harrogate Town

Prediction 1 – Swindon Town To Win – 11/20

Prediction 2 – Over 2.5 Goals Scored – 3/4

Prediction 3 – Both Teams To Score – Yes – 3/4

First Prediction For Swindon Town v Harrogate Town – Swindon Town To Win – 11/20

We all know the cliché of “on paper this looks like a home win” but we also know that games of football in League Two, or indeed anywhere are not won on paper. This does have the look as close as it can be to a win for the home side. Swindon Town are on a three game win streak that has seen them rise into second place in the early League Two standings. Harrogate Town are slipping into a mid-table place that could get worse if they don’t arrest their own streak of three games, but they are losses. Swindon have lost one of their three games at home, so there is a glimmer of hope for their visitors, and in fact have an equal spilt of five goals conceded and scored. Harrogate have a split of one game won.. drawn, and lost away from home.

Second Prediction For Swindon Town v Harrogate Town – Over 2.5 Goals Scored – 3/4

This has the look of a very open game in terms of scoring. Swindon are one of the leagues top scorers with 14, of which five of those are at home, so perhaps a little more freedom on the road. That will not take away the fact they are potent in front of goal. However they have conceded five at home, and nine overall. Harrogate Town have only scored twice on the road, but are tight in defence too with just three let in. Overall they have scored seven times, so a goal per game average, and conceded nine, so with two fairly open defences, this does mean that both sides attacking ambition could allow for many goals.

Third Prediction For Swindon Town v Harrogate Town – Both Teams To Score – Yes – 3/4

As outlined above both teams are having good success in front of goal so far this season, and given their somewhat frailties in defence, they should both be able to breach each other with some ease. Swindon are flying high in second place and will want to keep their momentum going, whereas Harrogate need to stop a slide so will be all out for goals to grab some much needed points. This looks like a sure bet with both teams sets of circumstances.

Full Preview Of The Game: Last Results And Head To Head

Ian Holloway is definitely allowing his experience and football nous to flow through his Swindon Town side, and this is creating some hugely entertaining football. With a chance to hit the top of the table his team will be ready for another opportunity to bag some goals, something they are proving to be very good at in the opening stages of the campaign. Aaron Drinan in particular, as he has bagged four already an assist also. Finley Munroe is pulling the right strings going forward, and Paul Glatzel is proving to be a handful with a couple of goals and an assist. Will Wright at 28 is marshalling a youthful defence, that has a pair of 20 year olds in Tom Wilson-Brown and Filozofe Mabete.

Harrogate Town are keeping their heads above water, and even though they are playing solid football, Simon Weaver will want more from his troops. They are in danger of sliding down the table, and that always leads to the inevitable talk of a relegation battle, which they never really seem to be fully embroiled in. To do so they will need more goals, as they cannot rely solely on Stephen Duke-McKenna. His three goals so far lead the way, but Ellis Taylor and Reece Smith will have to add to their goal each so far to ease the pressure. Defensively they are not bad, and can be quite stubborn. Lewis Cass and Wayne Burrell have performed steadily behind the veteran leadership of Anthony O’Connor.
