Bolton Wanderers have sanctioned loan moves for two of their promising B Team players in a bid to aid their development.
Goalkeeper Jack Dallimore and forward Mark Isong have both secured short-term spells in the Northern Premier League until January.
Youth Development in Action
The club confirmed that Dallimore, 19, has joined Atherton Collieries, while fellow teenager Isong has linked up with Warrington Town. Both players will continue to train with Bolton during the week, ensuring their progression remains closely monitored by the Whites’ coaching staff. Their temporary switches underline the club’s ongoing commitment to providing competitive opportunities for emerging talent.
Dallimore has already made his Colls debut, starting in their narrow 1-0 FA Trophy defeat against Silsden on Saturday. Isong also featured for Warrington at the weekend, stepping off the bench in a 2-0 defeat to Gainsborough Trinity in the NPL Premier Division. While the results may not have gone in their favour, both youngsters are expected to benefit from the physical and tactical challenges of senior football.

Progress for Younger Players
Bolton also highlighted the encouraging progress of full-back Ajay Weston, who is currently enjoying a successful spell at FC United of Manchester. The 20-year-old scored his first goal for the club in a 2-0 victory over Cleethorpes Town, maintaining FC United’s 100 per cent winning start to the campaign and keeping them top of the division. Weston has been an ever-present since arriving on loan and will remain with the Reds until January.
With first-team football in the Championship the main goal, Bolton continue to place significant emphasis on bridging the gap between academy and senior level. The decision to send young players out on loan reflects a strategy designed to ensure prospects gain valuable experience before challenging for places in Ian Evatt’s squad.
Writer’s View
Bolton’s decision to send Dallimore and Isong out on loan is a sensible one. Both players are at an age where exposure to competitive senior football is invaluable, and the Northern Premier League will provide a testing but rewarding environment.
Weston’s impact at FC United shows the benefits of such moves, while the Youth Team’s form highlights the depth of potential coming through the system. With Evatt’s side aiming high in League One, these younger players are laying important foundations for the club’s future.
