Huddersfield Town owner Kevin Nagle says he is “proud” of the Terriers’ summer rebuild after a frantic deadline day rounded off a 14-player recruitment drive.
The League One side added Will Alves and Zépiqueno Redmond on season-long loans to complete an extensive refresh under head coach Lee Grant.
Nagle hails ‘collective’ work as Town target momentum
Nagle used social media to reflect on the window, praising staff for assembling a group he believes supporters can get behind. Town’s owner said:
“With the summer transfer window now closed, I wanted to place on record how pleased I am of the work we have done collectively to build a squad we can all be proud of.”
The Terriers’ late business saw attacking midfielder Alves arrive from Leicester City and striker Redmond come in from Aston Villa, both on loan for the 2025/26 campaign. The pair take the incoming tally to 14, following earlier moves that included defensive additions and midfield reinforcements across June, July and August.

Huddersfield on The Pitch
On the pitch, Town have begun with four wins and two defeats from their opening six league fixtures, a start that leaves them inside the early top six and backing up the club’s stated ambition to challenge. Grant, appointed prior to the season, has leaned on an energetic, front-foot approach at the John Smith’s Stadium, with depth now improved across forward areas.
Context matters for supporters who have endured recent struggles. Nagle reiterated the need for patience as a new-look squad gels, but his message to fans was clear: stick with the group and maintain the strong backing shown home and away. With League One campaigns often defined by squad availability, Town’s volume of work gives Grant options to rotate and protect intensity through the autumn schedule.
Nagle closed his note by urging unity as Town chase their targets. The rebuild is substantial, the tone is positive, and early results suggest the Terriers enter September with momentum and a deeper bench than at any stage last term.
“Your support has been truly magnificent both home and away, and while we’ll have some bumps on the road, please stick with us as you have been doing and anything is possible.
“You are and always will be the backbone of this club, so please give the team that extra spring in their step to go on and achieve what we’re all hoping for this season.”
Writer’s View
This feels like a coherent window rather than a scattergun trolley dash. Bringing in Alves and Redmond at the last opportunity adds final-third variety and raises the ceiling without committing long-term funds, while the broader spread of signings gives Grant the flexibility League One demands.
The league start has earned credit, but the next step is continuity: turn home dominance into routine points, integrate the new faces quickly, and keep competition levels high. If Town manage that, a top-two push looks realistic rather than aspirational.
