Liverpool winger Kaide Gordon is attracting late-window interest from Derby County and Swansea City.
The 20-year-old, who began his career at Pride Park, could be set for a return to the Championship with both clubs weighing up moves before the September deadline.
Derby and Swansea Compete for Signature
Derby manager John Eustace is pushing to strengthen his attacking options after seeing Corey Blackett-Taylor sidelined through injury. His side have started the season in the relegation zone and urgently need reinforcements out wide.
Swansea are also exploring a deal as Alan Sheehan seeks to add pace and creativity to his squad. Both clubs are prepared to offer Gordon regular football after a stop-start campaign last year in which he managed loan spells at Norwich City and Portsmouth, totalling just 15 league appearances.
Gordon has already featured seven times for Liverpool’s first team, scoring once in the FA Cup during the 2021/22 season. With opportunities limited at Anfield, a loan move back to the Championship is now on the cards.

Derby Connection Remains Strong
The winger’s ties to Derby run deep. He was handed his senior debut at just 16 by Wayne Rooney in December 2020, coming off the bench in a 4-0 win over Birmingham City. Rooney was effusive in his praise at the time.
“Kaide is a fantastic player and he has got a lot of potential,” Rooney said. “He has come through the academy. He is 16, he has got a lot of development to do and he is definitely at the right place to do that.”
Gordon’s younger brother Isaac is currently in Derby’s academy setup, adding further weight to a potential reunion in the East Midlands.
Next Step for Gordon
At 20, Gordon is at a crossroads in his career. His technical ability and attacking instincts are well-regarded, but injuries and a lack of minutes have slowed his progress. Both Derby and Swansea can offer him a platform to re-establish himself at senior level.
For Liverpool, a productive loan spell would allow Gordon to regain rhythm while showcasing his long-term value. For either Derby or Swansea, it represents the chance to sign a player once regarded as one of the brightest prospects in the country.
Writer’s View
A move for Kaide Gordon makes sense on all sides. Derby need pace and creativity after a sluggish start, while Swansea also lack depth on the wings.
For Gordon, who once drew Premier League bids before his 17th birthday, the time has come to put together a full Championship campaign and remind people of the talent Rooney once called “fantastic.” If he can stay fit, this could prove one of the most important deals of the late summer window.
