League Two, and matchday two. Notts County will be hoping for a wining start to their home campaign, but Salford City are looking for their first points of the season.
Our Three Predictions For Notts County v Salford City
Prediction 1 – Notts County To Win – 19/20
Prediction 2 – Over 2.5 Goals Scored – 17/25
Prediction 3 – Both Teams To Score – Yes – 11/20
First Prediction For Notts County v Salford City – Notts County To Win – 19/20
It is always a case of settling in with new squads taking shape, and Notts County will take heart from a decent draw at Newport County on the opening day of the season. The 1-1 draw means they come into their first home game on decent footing, and will try and get the form they had last season where they had the 10th best record on home soil. They did however lose their last three games at home which cost them a run at automatic promotion. Salford come into the game off the back of an opening day loss, but will be buoyed by the fact they had the sixth best away record in League Two last campaign, and having finished just a place outside the playoff places will want to get their season on track here, but County may have too much for them in this early test.
Second Prediction For Notts County v Salford City – Over 2.5 Goals Scored – 17/25
A goal away from home last time out means that County have opened their account and now back on home turf they will try and add to that tally. Last season they grabbed 31 goals at home, but did concede 21, so that will give visitors hope when they cone to Meadow Lane. To which Salford will try and take advantage. They managed 32 goals on their travels in the 2024/25 season, and if they get amongst the goals here it could mean this is a good bet.
Third Prediction For Notts County v Salford City – Both Teams To Score – Yes – 11/20
So, with both sides having somewhat suspect defences last term, will they fare better this time out? County finished as fifth top scorers in the division with 68, but Salford were not far behind on 64, good enough for eighth best. County balanced that out with a tight back line that only yielded 49 goals, and their visitors in this game let in five more. Ultimately this means that both have good scoring prowess but equally likely to concede, so no wonder the odds are so short.

Full Preview Of The Game: Last Results And Head To Head
Jodi Jones got Notts County’s season underway with their goal in the draw at Newport and will continue to be the threat going forward. A constant thorn in League Two sides, he will be helped by the forward play of Matthew Dennis. Martin Paterson will want to get the home crowd rocking and he will want to keep it tight at the back, so will need Matty Platt and Jacob Bedeau at their best, along with Irishman Barry Cotter. Tom Iorpenda will be instrumental in midfield, and if the Magpies get off to a strong start they again will be one to watch this season.
Karl Robinson has all the pressure on him again as Salford are always viewed as a big fish, but they have yet to fully show any promised potential. The defence was put to the sword last weekend at home, with Crewe Alexandra putting three past them so the gaffer will want more from Adebola Oluwo, Luke Garbutt, and Rosaire Longelo. Up top they do have potential to cause havoc, Cole Stockton and Jorge Grant are wily veterans, and Welsh attacker Ben Woodburn is one to watch.
