Millwall Forward Targeted By Premier League Duo

Everton are eyeing a summer move for Millwall striker Mihailo Ivanovic as they look to rebuild their forward line.

The 20-year-old has attracted significant top-flight interest after a strong first season in English football.

Everton Face Premier League Battle for Ivanovic

Ivanovic joined Millwall from Serbian club Vojvodina last summer in a £2.8m deal and quickly adapted to life in the Championship. He netted 13 goals in 40 appearances across all competitions, drawing comparisons to past EFL stars who have successfully transitioned to the Premier League.

Everton’s need for a new frontman has intensified following the departure of Dominic Calvert-Lewin, with Armando Broja also returning to Chelsea after his loan. That’s left new manager David Moyes seeking fresh attacking options—and Ivanovic has emerged as one of the top names on their radar.

Football Insider report that Everton and Wolverhampton Wanderers are both tracking the Serbia youth international, while Serie A side Lazio are also monitoring the situation after failing to qualify for Europe.

Millwall are reluctant to part ways with Ivanovic, who is viewed as a vital part of Alex Neil’s plans. However, they could be forced into a decision if Premier League sides make firm offers. Despite the forward being tied to a long-term deal, sources indicate it would take “big, big money” to prise him away from The Den.

“I’m not surprised that there’s growing interest in Ivanovic,” said journalist Pete O’Rourke. “He’s a player with huge potential, and that’s maybe what Everton have spotted. Millwall could have a fight on their hands to keep hold of him.”

Everton are understood to be closing in on a separate deal for Villarreal striker Thierno Barry, reportedly costing close to £35m. However, the Merseyside club could still push ahead with a second attacking addition, especially given the scale of their rebuild.

Scouting talent from the Championship is a proven strategy for Moyes, who famously signed Tim Cahill from Millwall during his first stint at Goodison Park. That move proved pivotal, and fans will be hoping Ivanovic—should a deal be struck—can replicate that kind of success.

Writer’s View

Mihailo Ivanovic is exactly the type of striker Premier League clubs look to mould—young, physical, and proven at Championship level. Everton’s rebuild under David Moyes will require a blend of experience and emerging talent, and Ivanovic fits the bill. With Calvert-Lewin gone and no permanent replacement in place, the Serbian could slot straight into the first-team picture.

For Millwall, it’s another sign of their growing reputation as a breeding ground for top-level talent, but holding on to a player of Ivanovic’s calibre when Premier League money comes calling is always a challenge.
