Charlton Athletic are eyeing a move for Luton Town goalkeeper Thomas Kaminski in what would be a major summer coup for the newly-promoted Championship side.
The Belgian international is reportedly available for around £1 million, with interest also coming from mainland Europe as his future at Kenilworth Road hangs in the balance.
Charlton Move Could Reunite Kaminski With Nathan Jones
Having returned to pre-season training with Luton last week, Kaminski’s next destination remains a hot topic. The 32-year-old endured a frustrating campaign in 2024/25 as the Hatters suffered a second successive relegation, dropping into League One following a final-day 5–3 defeat to West Bromwich Albion. Despite the team’s struggles, Kaminski’s individual quality stood out—his remarkable double save against Crystal Palace earned him the Premier League’s Save of the Season award, and he also earned his first senior cap for Belgium.

Now, Charlton Athletic appear to be the front-runners for his signature. The Addicks, fresh off promotion via the League One play-offs under former Luton boss Nathan Jones, are reportedly closing in on a deal. According to EFL Zone, a fee of around £1 million has been discussed—seen by many as a bargain for a player with Kaminski’s pedigree.
Should the move go ahead, Kaminski would be reunited not only with Jones but also with ex-Hatters teammate Luke Berry, who recently made the switch to The Valley. For Charlton, this would represent a serious statement of intent as they look to re-establish themselves in the second tier.
Kaminski has made 85 appearances for Luton since arriving from Blackburn Rovers in 2023 and was a key figure in their maiden Premier League campaign. While a return to Belgium had been mooted—with Standard Liege and Anderlecht both showing interest—remaining in England may now be the most likely scenario.

This potential move feels like a win for all parties. Charlton would be securing a top-class keeper with Championship and Premier League experience, while Kaminski gets the opportunity to stay at a competitive level under a manager he trusts.
For Luton, the deal would provide a tidy sum and clarity as they rebuild in League One. With Nathan Jones keen to bring familiarity and leadership to his squad, Kaminski could prove to be one of the best-value signings of the summer.
