Norwich City are set to add Louie Moulden to their goalkeeping ranks as part of a major reshuffle in that department ahead of the 2025/26 season.
The 23-year-old is expected to sign for the Canaries this week after leaving Crystal Palace earlier this summer. Moulden is understood to be reuniting with City’s head of goalkeeping Tony Roberts, with whom he worked at Wolves, and will likely serve as the third-choice keeper at Carrow Road.
Underwhelming Canaries Campaign In 2024/25
City have already made strides to address last season’s underwhelming goalkeeping performances. Dan Grimshaw has arrived from Plymouth Argyle to compete for the number two spot, while the club continues its search for a new first-choice following the departure of Angus Gunn.
Norwich have identified Sporting CP’s Vladan Kovacevic and Leicester City’s Jakub Stolarczyk as candidates for the starting role, while other potential signings remain under wraps. Meanwhile, George Long, Vicente Reyes, and Dan Barden have been made available for transfer.

The Manchester-born stopper brings experience from several EFL and non-league loans, including stints at Rochdale, Solihull Moors, Ebbsfleet United, and Northampton Town. He made 12 senior appearances for the Cobblers during the 2023/24 season and featured 25 times for Palace’s U21 side last term.
Moulden came through the academies at Liverpool and Manchester City, before joining Wolves in 2021. He moved to Crystal Palace on a free transfer in August 2024 but failed to break into the first team at Selhurst Park.
His arrival at Carrow Road follows Norwich’s acquisition of 19-year-old Rylee Mitchell from Stevenage. Mitchell will join the club’s development squad under the guidance of Olly Lee, further highlighting the club’s emphasis on long-term succession planning in goal.
