Following their third promotion in a row, Wrexham are looking to bolster their squad in stylish fashion ahead of next season, with their high budget injected into the club from their owners allowing them to do so ahead of an exciting year in The Championship.
We have already seen ambitious links with Premier League players such as Tom Cairney and Jamie Vardy, and according to The Football Insider, Phil Parkinson’s side are lineup up a move for Tottenham Hotspur central defender Ben Davies, with the Welshman’s contract looking like it will not be renewed by the North London side beyond the end of the season.
Experience Will Help
Ben Davies would be a real statement signing for Wrexham and you could argue a signing of real intent that they are not there to make up the numbers in the second tier, having racked up 28 appearances across all competitions for Spurs this season, with 17 of those being in the league and playing a vital part in their run in the Europa League that saw them end their trophy drought in Bilbao two weeks ago.
A potential move to The Racecourse course could be an ideal fit for the defender as well, as he is a huge part of the Welsh national team setup, with over 90 caps for his country and also playing a huge part in their Euro 2016 shock run to the semi-finals.
All in All having a player with that much experience will be huge for a side getting to grips with life in The Championship, he would instantly become one of the best players in the league and would not have trouble settling into the area.

This definitely proves that Wrexham have a really strong ambition to compete at the higher end of The Championship, the decision will all be down to the player you would imagine, as a strong argument could be made that he can still perform to a good standard at a higher level.
Parkinson likes to play a back three normally and whilst they do have quality defenders in Dan Scarr and Max Cleworth, most of the backline lacks that extra bit of experience at a higher level, the signing of Davies would not just bring them a man with experience at Championship level, but far beyond that with what he has achieved with club and country, which will only improve their side even more.
