First Prediction For Huddersfield Town vs Leyton Orient: Match Result – Leyton Orient – 17/20
Looking at the form guide, the two sides could not be in more differing form. While Leyton Orient have won their last five in a row, taking the O’s into the top six, Huddersfield have lost five on the bounce. That set of results have ruled the Terriers out of Play-Off contention, sitting eleven points adrift of those positions. In their last nine encounters in West Yorkshire, Huddersfield have lost six and have only won twice in eleven home games. Conversely, Richie Wellens’ outfit are fourth in the away standings, winning eleven times away from E10, including each of their last three. Given Orient may require a victory to seal their place in the end-of-season competition, they are heavy favourites on the final day and should take all three points in this encounter.
Second Prediction For Huddersfield Town vs Leyton Orient: Both Teams To Score – Yes – 61/100
Even in their three most recent defeats, Huddersfield have managed to find the back of the net. Much was expected from the Terriers given their winter business in forward areas, with the signings of Joe Taylor (Luton Town) and Dion Charles (Bolton Wanderers). But that has proved wide of the mark, with last season’s top scorer at Lincoln City netting only twice, starting seven times in an injury-hit second half of the campaign. Charles, meanwhile, is scoreless in West Yorkshire, failing to add to his seven at the Trotters earlier this term. Orient have been prolific in April, scoring seven in consecutive outings against Leyton Orient and Barnsley. That is with thanks to their leading marksman, Charlie Kelman, who tops the League One scoring charts with 21 this term. Though he hit braces in away wins earlier in April, the goals have been shared around, and both teams will expect to net on Saturday.
Third Prediction For Huddersfield Town vs Leyton Orient: Half-Time Result – Draw – 11/10
Eleven points separate the sides in the normal table, increasing by one in the opening 45 minutes of games. Orient rise two places into fourth place, though their points tally is six worse in that timeframe. Huddersfield drop out of the top half, leading in six fewer games than their overall tally. Despite the above statistics, the Os have failed to lead a game at half-time since they lost at Burton on the opening day of April. In the four other games last month in which both sides scored, Richie Wellens’ outfit conceded the opener on each occasion. With everything at stake for the visitors, expect a nervy opening 45 minutes that will likely be level.

Full Preview Of The Game: Last Results And Head-To-Head:
Huddersfield Town have had a dismal season in League One, compounded by their recent run of form. Tipped as one of the favourites for promotion at the start of the campaign, the Terriers embarked upon a sixteen-game unbeaten streak that ebbed into 2025. That saw them join the automatic promotion race, but it came crashing down with three successive losses against Bolton Wanderers, Birmingham City and Northampton Town. Continuing in February, the West Yorkshire outfit lost more games than they won, leading to Michael Duff’s dismissal the following month. After looking certain of a Play-Off place and even aspiring for the top two, it has been a truly woeful year for Huddersfield supporters, as they prepare to go again next season.
Academy manager Jon Worthington has taken interim charge, enjoying a dream start against Crawley Town. Previously scoreless in 2025 at home, Huddersfield ripped the Red Devils apart, netting four in the opening half hour in a five-one victory. But they were thrashed by Charlton the following weekend, followed by a loss at Lincoln earlier this month. Their narrow win over Mansfield Town was the Terriers’ only positive result in April, losing their last five in succession. While the loss to promotion-chasing Wycombe Wanderers may have been somewhat expected, being defeated by Burton Albion and Cambridge United was most certainly not. Two away losses on the spin have followed against Stockport County and Exeter City, leaving Worthington’s side tenth in the standings.
As mentioned above, Leyton Orient have had the polar opposite run of form with five consecutive wins. That means the equation is simple for Orient on Saturday: win and they are in the Play-Offs. With a goal difference that is eight better than Reading’s, only a freak result in the Royals’ final game against Barnsley would deny them a top-six place. Orient just need to match the result of their nearest rivals to be assured of competing in the end-of-season competition, which would cap off a fine year in the third tier. One of their best successes of the season, against Wycombe last weekend, has decreased the likelihood of the sides meeting in a two-legged affair in May. Only a Chairboys win will see them steal third place back from Stockport County, while the Hatters know anything other than a loss will see them face sixth place in the Play-Offs.
Few could have envisaged that Orient would be knocking on the door of the Play-Offs for a second successive season back in October. With eight points from eleven games, they sat fifth bottom in the third tier, but seven successive clean sheets in December saw them rapidly climb the standings. A remarkable twelve wins from fifteen had them sitting comfortably in the top six, and yet five successive defeats had them seven points adrift of that position. But their recent winning run, scoring ten in three outings against Mansfield, Crawley and Barnsley, means that Richie Wellens’ side have fate in their own hands.
Huddersfield lead the head-to-head record in this fixture, winning 27 games to Orient’s 19. In the eight meetings since 2008, the Terriers are unbeaten, winning five of the last seven games. In the first encounter for twelve years last November, the West Yorkshire side triumphed by two goals to nil, but this weekend’s game is expected to have a different outcome.
