Doncaster Rovers Among Clubs Eyeing Premier League Prospect

Doncaster Rovers are among the clubs showing interest in a summer move for Crystal Palace striker Ademola Ola-Adebomi, the Real EFL has learned.

The 21-year-old forward, a product of Palace’s academy, looks set to move on from Selhurst Park in search of first-team football. Having spent time on loan at Burton Albion and Belgian side Beveren this season, Ola-Adebomi is now catching the eye of clubs across the EFL. Doncaster, freshly promoted to League One, appear to be firmly in the race.

Under the guidance of Grant McCann, Rovers are preparing for a return to the third tier with renewed ambition. A key focus for the South Yorkshire side will be bolstering their attacking options, especially with Rob Street set to return to parent club Lincoln City following the end of his loan.

Palace are said to be open to sanctioning a permanent move for Ola-Adebomi, who turns 22 in September. The forward has enjoyed a prolific run with Palace’s U21 side, netting nine goals in 10 Premier League 2 appearances since returning from Belgium. In total, he’s scored 25 goals in 44 outings for the young Eagles.

Proven Potential Seeking First-Team Platform

With senior experience now under his belt and little chance of immediate involvement at Crystal Palace, a summer move could be the next logical step in Ola-Adebomi’s career. Doncaster’s track record of developing young talent under McCann makes them a natural fit for the striker’s next chapter.

While no official offers have been confirmed, interest is likely to grow as the transfer window approaches. For Rovers, securing a young and hungry striker like Ola-Adebomi would be a strong statement of intent ahead of their League One return.

Writer’s View

Doncaster’s promotion means they must now strike a balance between ambition and pragmatism in the transfer market. Ola-Adebomi fits the mould perfectly—hungry, experienced at youth and senior levels, and ready to make the jump.

With Rob Street departing, there’s a clear opening in the squad. If McCann can provide the right environment and consistent minutes, this could be a breakout campaign for the Palace academy graduate—and a smart bit of business for Rovers.
