Our Three Predictions For West Bromwich Albion vs Luton Town:
- First Prediction For West Bromwich Albion vs Luton Town: Match Result – Luton Town – 6/5
- Second Prediction For West Bromwich Albion vs Luton Town: Both Teams To Score – No – 9/10
- Third Prediction For West Bromwich Albion vs Luton Town: Half-Time Result – Draw – 1/1
First Prediction For West Bromwich Albion vs Luton Town: Match Result – Luton Town – 6/5
Luton Town arrive in the Black Country with three successive victories to take them out of the drop zone. But their last two wins were both at Kenilworth Road, and taking maximum points away from home has been a much harder task. Crucially, though, they are unbeaten in four games away from Bedfordshire, winning three. Having won just once in eighteen away fixtures prior to beating Cardiff last month, it represents a massive turnaround. Four is the number of games that West Brom have lost at the Hawthorns all season, though half of those defeats have come in the last three outings. Albion have the twelfth-best home record in the Championship, but with nothing on the line for the hosts, expect Luton to confirm their survival with three points at The Hawthorns.
Second Prediction For West Bromwich Albion vs Luton Town: Both Teams To Score – No – 9/10
Luton have managed to find the net in five of their six Championship games this month, including each of the last three. In two of those outings, they kept clean sheets, pointing to a newfound defensive resilience from Matt Bloomfield’s side. West Brom have gone the other way in recent weeks, netting only once in three games, and that was when they were already two down against Derby. Without the services of top goalscorer Josh Maja since January, who scored the opener in the reverse meeting, Albion are predicted to struggle to find the net again this weekend.
Third Prediction For West Bromwich Albion vs Luton Town: Half-Time Result – Draw – 1/1
If Championship games were only 45 minutes long, Albion would be in the Play-Offs and Luton would be safe. Half of West Brom’s outings have been level by half-time this term, trailing on just nine occasions. Likewise, Luton have also been on terms with their opponents at the interval in 22 games. With late goals in the Hatters’ recent outings against Stoke and Coventry City, they may once again leave it until the second period to take all three points this weekend.

Full Preview Of The Game: Last Results And Head-To-Head:
West Bromwich Albion’s season has fallen off a cliff in recent weeks. In their fourth successive second-tier season, the Baggies’ hopes of a return to the Premier League are now over. By Christmas, they had lost only three times all season, though eleven draws had them just outside the Play-Off places following a superb start. But Carlos Corberán departed for boyhood club Valencia during the Christmas period, which has had a detrimental impact on the West Midlands outfit. Chris Brunt became interim manager, losing only one of his five league games in charge. Fan favourite Tony Mowbray was appointed in the middle of January on a two and a half year deal, but failed to guide Albion into the top six. After losing against Derby County on Easter Monday, a result that virtually guaranteed another campaign at this level, the 61-year-old was dismissed.
James Morrison has stepped in as interim manager for the final couple of games of the season, relegating Cardiff City in his first fixture last Saturday. The goalless draw in South Wales was enough to send the Bluebirds down to League One, but also ended the West Midlanders’ faint hopes of a Play-Off place. Those aspirations had been dashed throughout April, losing four times in six this month. After being defeated by a Sunderland side that were already secure in the top six, West Brom lost to one of their Play-Off rivals, Bristol City, in dramatic fashion. But they quickly responded by beating Watford, though that was in vain as Easter proved to be season-ending. Making the short trip to Coventry City, Albion put in one of their poorest performances this term, losing comfortably to the Sky Blues before the Rams compounded their misery on Easter Monday.
Luton Town have given themselves an excellent shot at survival ahead of the final day. The Hatters looked dead and buried a few weeks ago, but three huge victories in succession mean they will start matchday 46 outside the bottom three in the Championship. Plymouth Argyle are all but down due to their vastly inferior goal difference, so one side from five will join the Pilgrims and Cardiff City in League One next season. Hull City are currently third from bottom, losing late against Derby County on Saturday, which had huge ramifications at the bottom of the Championship. It moved the Rams outside the bottom three, while the Tigers dropped into that position. It was also the result that effectively relegated Plymouth, despite their victory at Preston North End. But the Lilywhites are certainly in trouble now, losing four on the spin, sitting only a point above the relegation places. They are at Play-Off chasing Bristol City on Saturday, while the final side involved in the battle to stay up, Stoke City, are at Pride Park to face Derby. Hull are at Portsmouth, who recently secured their place in the second tier next season.
At the end of February, Luton sat bottom of the second tier, five points from safety. They had won just seven of their 34 league games this season, but have since recorded six victories in eleven games. The importance of their most recent victory against Coventry City cannot be understated. Jay Dasilva was dismissed for the Sky Blues early on in the contest before Liam Walsh was sent off with twenty minutes to play, levelling up the numbers. But in the final seconds of regular time, Shandon Baptiste capitalised on some suspect defending from the away side to score the Hatters’ winner. That result followed six points from their Easter encounters, beating relegation rivals Derby, along with Bristol City, at Kenilworth Road on Easter Monday. Two draws began April in decent fashion, holding Leeds United to a stalemate before Millenic Alli netted a vital stoppage-time leveller at Stoke. The Hatters’ other result this month was their only defeat, losing against Blackburn Rovers.
