Our Three Predictions For Blackpool vs Wrexham:

  • First Prediction For Blackpool vs Wrexham: Match Result – Draw – 9/4
  • Second Prediction For Blackpool vs Wrexham: Over 3.5 Goals – 9/4
  • Third Prediction For Blackpool vs Wrexham: Half-Time Result – Draw – 21/20

First Prediction For Blackpool vs Wrexham: Match Result – Draw – 9/4

The Tangerines have drawn a league-high eleven of their twenty home games this term, including an incredible eight in a row between October and February. While only losing three times at Bloomfield Road, Blackpool have won six, though four of those victories have come in their past six encounters. Only a handful of sides have had more stalemates away from home than Wrexham, drawing six times on their travels. The Red Dragons’ tally of 33 points is the fourth-best away record in the third tier, drawing their last two. With all that in mind, a draw feels the most likely outcome in this big game at the top of the third tier.

Second Prediction For Blackpool vs Wrexham: Over 3.5 Goals – 9/4

Blackpool have hit three goals twice in April, last failing to score eight games ago against Peterborough. The Tangerines have an average record in both boxes compared with the rest of the division, with 54 goals in their 20 home games thus far. While Wrexham failed to net in their last away game against Wigan, 16th November was the last time before that result that the Welsh had side failed to score on their travels. They have scored just 22 in 21 games, though, but with everything at stake on Monday afternoon, an open game with goals can be anticipated as the season reaches its climax.

Third Prediction For Blackpool vs Wrexham: Half-Time Result – Draw – 21/20

Wrexham drop a place in the first half table, with a massive 24 of their 43 games level at the interval. Only Wycombe have been involved in more opening half stalemates (26) than the Red Dragons, with their points tally seventeen shy of the full-time table. That’s largely due to turning half-time draws into full-time victories. Blackpool are fairly similar in both halves, as they are only five points adrift of their total over the ninety minutes. But the Tangerines move up two spaces and are three points closer to the top six based on these standings. That makes for an intriguing first 45 minutes on Monday that should be level at the interval.

Full Preview Of The Game: Last Results And Head-To-Head:

Wrexham may be seven games unbeaten, but three draws in four have seen them slip out of the automatic promotion places. Their latest stalemate against Bristol Rovers came as a surprise, given the Gas had lost six in a row prior to their trip to North Wales. But Taylor Moore gave them a first-half lead, which they couldn’t hold on to as Matty James levelled with fourteen to play. Wycombe’s win, their third in succession, lifted the Chairboys a point above their closest rivals. Completing the teams in contention for the Championship are Charlton Athletic, though the Addicks have both their promotion rivals to play in the next two games.

Wrexham’s point at Wigan Athletic last weekend saw Birmingham City crowned champions, while Wycombe closed the gap as they simultaneously won dramatically against Stevenage. Also in April, the Red Dragons made hard work of their encounter with relegation-threatened Burton Albion. After the Brewers were reduced to ten men early on, Phil Parkinson’s side took until the 71st minute to open the scoring through Steven Fletcher’s penalty before easing to a three-nil win. But they weren’t able to replicate that performance against another team at the bottom of League One, Cambridge United. The U’s turned around a goal deficit before Wrexham hit an equaliser to take a point. Three successive wins without conceding and five wins from six had seen Wrexham emerge as the favourites for second place. Beating their closest rivals Wycombe, along with recent foes Stockport, was followed by a win at Exeter to end March.

Blackpool’s Play-Off hopes are still alive by virtue of their game in hand, sitting six points adrift at present. Steve Bruce has relied on pretty much the same starting XI for the past two months to give the Tangerines a shot at a top-six finish. One of his consistent selections, Rob Apter, grabbed a twelve-minute hat-trick away at Stevenage on Good Friday to provide a quick response to their defeat at Rotherham two weekends ago. That loss was compounded by the gap to the top six being extended to nine points by the time Blackpool lined up in Hertfordshire. Reading have played three times since the Tangerines lost in South Yorkshire, winning at Shrewsbury before being held by Northampton. Noel Hunt’s side were replaced in the top six by Leyton Orient on Friday, as the U’s capitalised on the Royals’ loss to Lincoln City by winning a seven-goal thriller against Barnsley.

The Tangerines announced themselves in the Play-Off race at the beginning of April, putting three past Reading. That was one of several impressive results achieved in the past few months, winning three-nil at Oakwell last month to dent Barnsley’s challenge for a top-six spot. Play-Off rivals Leyton Orient and Stockport County join Rotherham as the only sides to have beaten Steve Bruce’s outfit in 2025, after the Lancashire outfit were ten unbeaten at the start of the year. That followed a stalemate against Birmingham in their final game of 2024, while February was littered with draws following a run of four games in succession ending level.

Wrexham have a late kick off next weekend when Charlton Athletic are the teatime visitors to The Racecourse, aiming to upset the promotion race. The Addicks will be looking to build momentum ahead of their Play-Off campaign, if they cannot finish in the top six by next Saturday. A sell-out away end then awaits the Red Dragons on the final day of the season at Lincoln City. Blackpool still have three games to play, which are all in the North West. That starts with Lancashire rivals Wigan Athletic, before welcoming Champions Birmingham City in the last midweek game of the season. Bristol Rovers are the final visitors to Bloomfield Road, potentially still requiring points for survival.

Blackpool have an outstanding record against Wrexham, unbeaten in 30 of the 36 meetings since 1946. Twenty of those results have been wins, though Wrexham won the reverse encounter on Boxing Day thanks to a late Steven Fletcher penalty, after his namesake Ashley had put the Tangerines ahead.
