Preston North End Contract News: Two Sign Deals

Preston North End have offered new contracts to two of their promising young defenders as they look to secure the next generation at Deepdale.

Kacper Pasiek, a 19-year-old left-sided defender, has been offered a two-year professional contract following the conclusion of his existing deal. Meanwhile, Josh Seary has been handed a six-month extension while he recovers from a serious knee injury sustained on loan at Larne.

Pasiek Progressing Through The Ranks

Pasiek joined the club as a scholar and had his one-year option activated last summer. He has since impressed during loan spells at Warrington Town, Marine, and most recently National League side Altrincham. Though yet to make his senior debut, he has been named on the bench five times across league and cup competitions this season.

Dynamic and versatile, Pasiek is comfortable both as a full-back and a wing-back. His performances in the Central League for Preston’s reserves have helped build a case for further development within the first team set-up.

“He is a quick, aggressive player who offers real energy down the left,” a source close to the club told the Lancashire Post. “The loan moves have really matured him, and this is a reward for that progress.”

He was an unused substitute in fixtures against Stoke, Norwich, Burnley, Wycombe and Aston Villa this season and is seen as a player with long-term potential.

Seary, 20, had started to gain momentum during his loan with Northern Irish side Larne, where he featured eight times including a full 90 minutes in their UEFA Conference League clash with St Gallen. However, a knee injury in November curtailed his progress.

Preston have opted to support the full-back through his rehabilitation with a short-term deal. Seary previously signed his first professional contract at 17 and has made five senior appearances to date, including a debut against Salford City in the EFL Cup.

These contract offers are a show of faith in two developing players. For Pasiek, the two-year deal reflects consistent progression and a clear development plan. For Seary, the six-month extension is both a pragmatic and compassionate move that keeps him close to the club during a critical recovery period. With first-team opportunities opening up for younger talent, Preston appear to be managing their future squad needs with care and intent.
