Our Three Predictions For Salford City vs Doncaster Rovers
- First Prediction: Doncaster Rovers To Win – 23/20
- Second Prediction: Both Teams To Score – 33/50
- Third Prediction: Over 2.5 Goals – 9/10
First Prediction For Salford City vs Doncaster Rovers – Doncaster Rovers To Win – 23/20
Salford have proven hard to beat in recent weeks, which has seen them reignite their play-off ambitions. They looked as if they could challenge for automatic promotion at the turn of the year but a run of just one win in 11 outings between January and March saw them slip down the table. However, three wins from their last five has seen them move to within four points of the top seven with five games remaining. This is their game in hand though, where they face off against a team hoping to lift the League Two title and boasting the best away record in the division.
Doncaster missed an opportunity to move into the automatic promotion places on Saturday when they could only muster a draw against AFC Wimbledon. However, with Bradford City and Walsall both losing, three points here would see them move upto second and two points behind leaders Port Vale. Grant McCann’s side have already picked up a victory at the Peninsula Stadium, winning 2-0 in the Carabao Cup in August.
Second Prediction For Salford City vs Doncaster Rovers – Both Teams To Score – 33/50
Salford have been in excellent goalscoring form since the turn of the year, only failing to score on two occasions. However, also tend to concede, having kept just two clean sheets in their last 16 league outings. Overall, 51% of their fixtures this season have seen both teams score, although that does drop to 40% in front of their own supporters.
When it comes to this market, only Swindon Town and Grimsby Town have been involved in more games where both teams have scored than Doncaster. The South Yorkshire-based side have seen 59% of their games achieve this outcome, which also includes the previous meeting between the pair in November.
Third Prediction For Salford City vs Doncaster Rovers – Over 2.5 Goals – 9/10
With so much riding on the game, expect this to be an open affair. Both teams have been in excellent goalscoring form which could make for an exciting encounter in Greater Manchester. Salford’s last outing saw them win 3-1 at Notts County, their third game in four which has seen at least three goals.
Doncaster are one of the highest scorers in the division and know they are in for a battle. With Salford rarely drawing a blank, it is likely that they will need to score at least twice to stand any chance of securing three points. For a safer bet, back over 1.5 goals at odds of 1/4.

Full Preview of the Game: Last Results and Head-To-Head
Salford have turned their form around in recent weeks and are unbeaten in their last seven games. Their last saw them record an excellent 3-1 win over Notts County at Meadow Lane. However, this mini resurgence has included four draws and they will need to start winning on a regular basis if they are to sneak into the play-off places. The Ammies haven’t won at home in their last three, recording 2-2 draws with Swindon Town and Gillingham, whilst they lost 2-1 against Bradford City in March.
Doncaster have been one of the favourites to secure a top three finish all season, but they have stuttered slightly as of late. Despite having not lost in their last six, they have drawn four times. The last of those came at the weekend against AFC Wimbledon, whilst they also picked up a point against Walsall, Crewe Alexandra and Swindon. Grant McCann’s side have been excellent on the road though and they will need more of the same here. Their last trip away from the Eco-Power Stadium saw them pick up a 2-0 victory over Cheltenham Town earlier this month.
Previous meetings show there is nothing to separate the two teams over the years. Since Salford were promoted to the EFL in 2019, there have been six previous clashes, with the pair winning two each and the other two ending in a draw. The reverse fixture in November finished 1-1, although Doncaster did secure a 2-0 win in the Carabao Cup at the Peninsula Stadium in August.
