After a defeat in a game against Champions Elect Barnet, Altrincham looks to bounce back quickly and prove they still have enough for a shot at the playoffs. Solihull Moors look safe now and will aim to spoil their hosts’ ambitions in this midweek National League match.
Our Three Predictions For Altrincham v Solihull Moors
- Prediction 1 – Altrincham To Win – 47/50
- Prediction 2 – Both Teams To Score – Yes – 63/100
- Prediction 3 – Match To End In A Draw – 117/50
First Prediction For Altrincham v Solihull Moors – Altrincham To Win – 47/50
In many ways this is a must win for The Robins. They are very much on the outside looking in at the playoffs, but will still want to make a late charge. However recent form suggests they are off the pace and will only hope that they can revisit the form that put them in contention. At home they have eight of their 19 games, and in doing so outscoring their visitors by 13 goals, which is the fifth best in the league. In contrast The Moors have won a third of their away games, and lost eight of their 18 away trips. They have though managed a positive goal difference on the road so the home side will have to be wary, especially given their current form. However, the need for points is greater for the home side and they should get back to winning ways in this important match,
Second Prediction For Altrincham v Solihull Moors – Both Teams To Score – Yes – 63/100
Present form does indicate that goals will be scored in this game. Altrincham are on a terrible run at the worst time, and will need to prove that they are still capable of being in the mix come the season end. To do this they may have to outscore the opposition more than before as it is hard to see them not conceding. They do have one of the best attacks in the league still, their 57 goals ranks equal seventh in total scored, and at home they have 29 goals. Solihull are no slouches in and around the penalty box either with 53 goals scored but their 58 conceded is a reason why they will not be in playoff picture this year, and are looking nervously at teams creeping up below them. This may not be a shootout, but there is every chance that both sides will score.
Third Prediction For Altrincham v Solihull Moors – Match To End In A Draw – 117/50
Often in games with so much on at stake, the teams can cancel each other out. This may be the case here. Altrincham will be playing to avoid a sixth straight loss, as well as getting themselves back into the playoff chase. So, finding a balance will be key, and that may make them over cautious. They have drawn six times at home, and 10 overall. Solihull Moors have only drawn four times away, but they will want to come away from this game with at least a point, which will be credible. They have only drawn eight in total, which is equal second for least in the National League, which does suggest they are an all or nothing side, but with valuable points to be gained they may have to settle for keeping this one close. The last three outings between the two have ended draws, so this could well be the fourth in a row.

Full Preview Of The Game: Last Results And Head To Head
Altrincham’s fight to get into the playoffs took an expected hit at the weekend with a loss to Barnet, and will take this opportunity to hit back quickly. Time is running out and as they sit two points away from Rochdale in seventh, the last playoff place, they are not just looking at their own form, but also that of those above them as they try and chase down a pack that has largely been the same for some time. It is now five losses on the spin, and that run couldn’t have come at a worse time. Somehow Phil Parkinson must pick up his side before the season turns into one of what could’ve been. They will hope that the home form is enough to see them back on track, and this game may have just come at a perfect time to end the run and see them back in the race.
Solihull Moors have had a mixed season and even though they look safe, eight points clear of the drop zone, they will still be cautious of their current form that has seem them only pick up one win in the last six games, whereas other seem to be picking up points around them as they start to climb away from the danger zone. Matty Taylor will need to bring some resilience back and hope his strike force manage to find enough goals to stop what could be a nervous end to the season, and not be looking over their shoulder.
