Lincoln City Sanction Player Exit: Keeper Leaves For 28 Days

Lincoln City keeper Jamie Pardington has joined National League North side Peterborough Sports on loan.

The goalkeeper, who signed for the Imps in the summer and has made two senior appearances, will link up with the Turbines for 28 days. He will join City team-mate MJ Kamara, who is already on loan with the National League North side.

Jamie Pardington Career

Pardington began his career with Rushall Olympic before joining Wolves in 2018. He had loan spells at Bath City, Stratford Town, Dulwich Hamlet, and Mansfield before being released in 2022. After brief stints at Grimsby and Larne, he joined Cheltenham Town in 2023, making his debut on the final day of the 2023–24 season.

Cheltenham released him after relegation, and he signed a two-year deal with Lincoln City in June 2024. He made his Lincoln debut in November 2024, playing a full 90 minutes against Manchester City U21 in the EFL Trophy.

Lincoln City Stance

Lincoln has a strong relationship with The Turbines, having loaned numerous players to them over the last couple of seasons. Imps director of football Jez George explained they needed a keeper, and with George Wickens and Zach Jeacock currently vying for the number one jersey, it’s a good chance for Pardington to get some matches.

“We have an excellent relationship with Peterborough Sports and we are happy to help them cover the recent injury to their goalkeeper for their next few games,” said George. “This suits us as well as Jamie needs some football, so it’s a win/win.

“Jamie will continue to train with us and we should highlight the contribution he has made all season to the goalkeeping department and the overall environment through his consistently high standards in training, his mentality, commitment and support for the other goalkeepers despite so few opportunities to play. He is a top professional and an outstanding character.”

Writer’s View

Pardington has been on the fringes of things at Lincoln this season despite impressing against Manchester City Under 21s. This arrangement will certainly benefit Peterborough Sports, who are getting a Football League quality keeper on loan.

Jeacock, currently number two at the LNER Stadium, has already had a loan spell this season at Southend United and come back stronger, so Pardington will be hoping this is a chance for him to do the same, with an eye on next season.
