Full Preview Of The Game: Last Results And Head-To-Head:

Burnley welcome Luton Town to Turf Moor looking for a third league win on the bounce and a fourth in five league outings.

On Tuesday night, Scott Parker’s side travelled to Wales to face Cardiff City and came away with all three points thanks to Josh Brownhill and  Maxime Esteve. The Clarets did, however, do the unthinkable as conceded a goal, the first time they have been penetrated in the league since December.

Parker’s side find themselves in third spot in the Championship, two points behind second place Sheffield United and five behind leaders Leeds United. They have totalled 71 points from 35 games, winning 19 and only losing two.

Top scorer Josh Brownhill has hit 11 goals so far while on loan striker Zian Flemming has nine in all competitions. With five assists, Jaidon Anthony just edges out Brownhill as the club’s most prolific creator of goals.

Burnley’s defensive record is nothing short of sensational, with only 10 goals conceded and 25 clean sheets to their name.

Luton Town travel north to Turf Moor with a whole week of preparation under their belts after last Saturday’s vital victory over Portsmouth at Kenilworth Road. The Hatters had Jordan Clark to thank for the points after his 25th minute strike to keep Matt Bloomfield’s men in touching distance of Hull City above them.

Victory over Pompey was Bloomfield’s first in charge of the club at the ninth time of asking and the former Wycombe Wanderers boss had lost five of those first nine at the helm. Defeat to rivals Watford preceded the Portsmouth win and followed a match that the Hatters must have felt they needed to win against Plymouth Argyle. After the taking the lead in the 55th minute thanks to substitute Jacob Brown Luton were pegged back by Maksym Talovierov and missed the chance to go level on points with Hull.

Luton’s away form is nothing short of terrible, having won just one and collected only five points away from Kenilworth Road this season. That solitary away victory came back in September at Millwall thanks to a 10th minte Teden Mengi strike.

The Hatters have scored the least goals in the Championship with just 32 scored in their 35 games with top scorers Carlton Morris providing seven of those as Alfie Doughty and Tom Krauss have provided four assists apiece. Luton have conceded 55 goals at an average of 1.6 per game and have only kept seven clean sheets, a record that is only better than five other teams.

Luton have not won any of the last five meetings between these sides and were demolished in the reverse fixture back in August as Scott Parker’s men ran out 4-1 victors. Goals from Josh Brownhill, Wilson Odobert, Dara O’Shea and Vitinho sealed the win despite Tahith Chong getting Luton back to 2-1 after 55 minutes. Three of Burnley’s four scorers that afternoon would all leave the club before the end of August.

Last season the matches came in the Premier League with Burnley claiming four points from the two encounters. In October, they came away from Kenilworth Road with all three points thanks to Lyle Foster and a late strike from Jacob Bruun Larsen after Elijah Adebayo had equalised for Luton with six minutes remaining. The reverse fixture under the lights at Turf Moor saw Zeki Amdouni seemingly secure maximum points for the hosts before Carlton Morris rescued a point for the Hatter in the 92nd minute.
