Promotion-chasing Port Vale host relegation threatened Harrogate Town at Vale Park in this crucial League Two fixture.
Our Three Predictions For Port Vale vs Harrogate Town
- First Prediction: Port Vale To Win – 3/4
- Second Prediction: Both Teams To Score – No – 4/5
- Third Prediction: Under 2.5 Goals – 4/6
First Prediction For Port Vale vs Harrogate Town – Port Vale To Win – 3/4
Port Vale’s form at the end of 2.24 was well documented. After looking as if they would push Walsall for the League Two title, they went eight games without a win to fall away. However, they have been much improved since the turn of the year and are yet to taste defeat in 2025. Furthermore, they have been excellent at Vale Park, winning their last four in front of their own supporters. They may have dropped points against Tranmere Rovers at the weekend, but you have to fancy them picking up three points here.
Harrogate picked up a much-needed win over Accrington Stanley at the weekend, easing their relegation fears in the process. It was their second victory in three outings but their away form has been a cause for concern. They have just three away wins to their name this season, the last of which came against Barrow on January 4th. They have lost their last four on the road though, the last of which came at Bromley at the end of last month.
Second Prediction For Port Vale vs Harrogate Town – Both Teams To Score – No – 4/5
Port Vale haven’t kept many clean sheets recently, but they will be hopeful of one here. They have just two shut outs this year, although both have come at Vale Park. The most recent saw them beat Notts County 1-0 on February 13th, with the other coming on New Year’s Day when they drew 0-0 with Cheltenham Town.
This prediction is mainly aimed towards the Sulphurites. Harrogate have scored just once in their last four games away from The Exercise Stadium, although all four have ended in defeat. The previous meeting between the two teams earlier this season also finished 1-0, with Port Vale securing the three points in Yorkshire.
Third Prediction For Port Vale vs Harrogate Town – Under 2.5 Goals – 4/6
Harrogate have been involved in low-scoring affairs since the turn of the year. In their 10 league outings in 2025, only two have produced three goals – a 2-1 win over Accrington Stanley and a 2-1 defeat against MK Dons. Stretch that out to the full season, and only 12 of their 34 games have gone over this mark.
It’s been slightly different for Port Vale this year. With them conceding more goals that prior to the New Year, half of their games have gone over 2.5 goals, but the whole season shows they are also in the low-scoring bracket. 18 of their 32 games have all fallen under this bracket.

Full Preview of the Game: Last Results and Head-To-Head
Port Vale have their sights firmly set on promotion and will be looking to bounce back from their 1-1 draw against Tranmere Rovers on Saturday. This leaves them sixth in the table, although they are five points behind third-placed Doncaster Rovers in the final automatic promotion place having played two less games. Although the Staffordshire-based side have drawn their last three away games, they have won their last four at home, including victories over Salford City, Notts County, Accrington Stanley and Newport County.
Harrogate’s win over Accrington Stanley saw the two teams swap places. This means the Sulphurites are 20th but more importantly, 10 points above the relegation places. Simon Weaver’s team also managed a 1-0 victory over Swindon Town last month but have lost their last four on the road against Bromley, Bradford City, MK Dons and Doncaster Rovers.
With Harrogate spending the majority of their history in non-league, there have only been five previous EFL meetings between the pair. The Valiants won 1-0 at the Exercise Stadium in October, whilst the Sulphurites are yet to record a win against Vale since their promotion to League Two in 2020.
