Port Vale haven’t kept many clean sheets recently, but they will be hopeful of one here. They have just two shut outs this year, although both have come at Vale Park. The most recent saw them beat Notts County 1-0 on February 13th, with the other coming on New Year’s Day when they drew 0-0 with Cheltenham Town.
This prediction is mainly aimed towards the Sulphurites. Harrogate have scored just once in their last four games away from The Exercise Stadium, although all four have ended in defeat. The previous meeting between the two teams earlier this season also finished 1-0, with Port Vale securing the three points in Yorkshire.

Port Vale have their sights firmly set on promotion and will be looking to bounce back from their 1-1 draw against Tranmere Rovers on Saturday. This leaves them sixth in the table, although they are five points behind third-placed Doncaster Rovers in the final automatic promotion place having played two less games. Although the Staffordshire-based side have drawn their last three away games, they have won their last four at home, including victories over Salford City, Notts County, Accrington Stanley and Newport County.
Harrogate’s win over Accrington Stanley saw the two teams swap places. This means the Sulphurites are 20th but more importantly, 10 points above the relegation places.
