Our 3 Predictions For Tranmere Rovers v Port Vale:

  • 1st Prediction For Tranmere Rovers v Port Vale: Match Result Port Vale To Win – 13/5
  • 2nd Prediction For Tranmere Rovers v Port Vale: Over 1.5 Goals – 4/11
  • 3rd Prediction For Tranmere Rovers v Port Vale: Jayden Stockley To Score Anytime – 11/4

1st Prediction For Tranmere Rovers v Port Vale: Match Result Port Vale To Win – 13/5

Tranmere’s dreadful run of form and Vale’s unbeaten stretch point to this ending in an important win for the visitors. Darren Moore’s side have been impressive on the road this season, claiming 26 points from their 16 away matches which is the fourth best return in the division. Alternatively, Tranmere have won just four times at Prenton Park this season and haven’t won anywhere for ten matches.

2nd Prediction For Tranmere Rovers v Port Vale: Over 1.5 Goals – 4/11

Tranmere’s dismal defensive record of 52 goals conceded at an average of 1.6 per game suggests Vale will have too much for the home side to handle in front of goal. Three of Rovers’ last five matches and and four of Vale’s last five league games have contained two or more goals.

3rd Prediction For Tranmere Rovers v Port Vale: Jayden Stockley To Score Anytime – 11/4

Jayden Stockley is the club’s top scorer and manager Darren Moore will be hoping his targetman is fit for this clash. Stockley has seven goals to his name and prior to going off against Notts County had registered three in his last four.

Full Preview Of The Game: Last Results And Head-To-Head:

Tranmere Rovers are in the middle of a simply dreadful run of form and have not won in their last ten matches since a 1-0 win over bottom side Carlisle United on the first weekend of 2025. Tuesday night saw a devastating home defeat to fellow strugglers Accrington Stanley has left Rovers just two points above the bottom two with 12 games remaining. A Shaun Whalley goal after 50 minutes was enough to condemn Adkins’ side to a fifth home defeat of the season.

Three days prior they were beaten on the road by promotion chasing Notts County following a flurry of late goals. Charlie Whitaker had broken the deadlock for County with ten minutes left on the clock before Alassana Jatta made it two three minutes later. Kristian Dennis notched his fourth goal of the season in the 88th minute but his side were unable to rescue a point.

Tranmere’s last victory came on January 4th thanks to a Cameron Norman strike against bottom side Carlisle, only the club’s second victory since December 14th.

The Super White Army find themselves in 22nd spot in League Two just one place and two points above Morecambe and five ahead of 24th placed Carlisle having won just six times and amassed 28 points from their 33 matches so far. Omari Patrick leads the scoring charts with six and the former Sutton United man has chipped in with two assists so far this season. Tranmere are joint worst in the league when it comes to goals scored, with just 23 strikes in 28 games, and possess the leakiest defence in the league having allowed their opponents to score on 52 occasions.

Port Vale head to Merseyside unbeaten in their last eight League Two outings since defeat at Grimsby Town in the club’s last game of 2024. Since then, five wins and three draws have seen the Valiants maintain their promotion push and they sit 6th in the division just three points behind the top three.

Last time out, Darren Moore’s side gained a valuable victory against playoff hopefuls Salford City. Antwoine Hackford opened the scoring on the stroke of half time before Rekeem Harper scored what proved to be the winner after 52 minutes. Ronan Curtis was on target in yet another big promotion clash against with Notts County to give Vale three vital points just over two weeks ago at Vale Park just five days after sharing the spoils with Swindon Town in a six goal thriller.

Port Vale have an excellent away record having claimed 26 points from 16 matches on the road. Jayden Stockley is the club’s top scorer this season on seven and one of the top performers has been Swiss attacker Lorent Tolaj who has 12 goal contributions to his name. Vale, on average, score 1.3 goals per game and concede 1.1 having kept 11 clean sheets so far.

In the last 12 meetings between these sides, Tranmere just edge it by four wins to three with the most common result being a draw. In this season’s earlier fixture, the pair could not be separated and the game ended in a goalless draw. That it one of three straight draws between the two after both fixtures in the 2021-22 season finished all square.

The last time one of these teams gained all three points from this fixture was back in February 2021 when Tranmere ran out 3-1 victors. Kaiyne Woolery opened the scoring before former Everton man James Vaughan got the first of his two after half an hour. Jake Taylor pulled one back to give Vale hope before Vaughan struck again to secure maximum points for his side.
