  • First Prediction For Birmingham City vs Leyton Orient: Match Result – Draw – 11/4
  • Second Prediction For Birmingham City vs Leyton Orient: Under 3.5 Goals – 1/4
  • Third Prediction For Birmingham City vs Leyton Orient: Alfie May To Score Anytime – 3/2

First Prediction For Birmingham City vs Leyton Orient: Match Result – Draw – 11/4

Saturday afternoon saw both have a disappointing result. Reading held the Blues to a goalless draw, following their EFL Trophy exploits in midweek, which may not be considered points dropped though due to Wycombe also failing to pick up all three points. The Royals are in Play-Off contention, moving a point closer to Leyton Orient in sixth after the London outfit were beaten at Bolton Wanderers. The Trotters have moved to within goal difference of Orient, meaning a midweek response is needed to maintain their spot in the League One Play-Offs. But unfortunately, they come up against the third-tier leaders, who remain unbeaten at home, and a draw would represent a good outcome for the O’s in their charge for Championship football, a division which Birmingham seem destined for.

Second Prediction For Birmingham City vs Leyton Orient: Under 3.5 Goals – 1/4

Despite being clear at the top, Birmingham aren’t the leading scorers in the division, and have netted only three more times than 20th place Peterborough. It is their superb defensive record though that has them as the runaway leaders, shipping just nineteen goals in 30 games. Orient have the fourth-best record in that department, while only scoring two fewer times than the Blues. The O’s had hit a particularly good patch of goalscoring form in recent times, scoring at least twice in three consecutive outings before losing at Bolton on Saturday. They hit six away at Exeter last month, but even finding the net once in the West Midlands will be considered a small win given the Blues defensive resolve.

Third Prediction For Birmingham City vs Leyton Orient: Alfie May To Score Anytime – 3/2

There was much concern in the West Midlands last Tuesday evening when League One’s leading scorer Jay Stansfield was stretchered off in the EFL Trophy Semi-Final clash with Bradford. Fortunately, though, it doesn’t appear to be as serious as first feared, but the Blues have an abundance of options waiting in the wings. Lyndon Dykes was given the nod from the go on Saturday, following his late winner in that Vertu Trophy clash, but Alfie May is also a more than adequate option. Last season’s Golden Boot winner has hit double figures again this term, and he netted the match-winner back in August in this encounter. With one of the best minutes to goal ratio in the division, don’t back against May netting on Tuesday.

Full Preview Of The Game: Last Results And Head-To-Head:

The Blues have enjoyed a successful week across all competitions, sealing a place at Wembley while maintaining their spot well clear at the top of League One. Despite being held by Reading in Saturday’s early game, the side from the Second City stretched their unbeaten league record to sixteen outings. Last Tuesday evening, they also sealed a first appearance under the arch since 2011 after beating Bradford in the EFL Trophy Final.

A late Lyndon Dykes goal was required to see off the League Two outfit, who had pulled level early in the second period. Birmingham had won four third-tier outings in a row previously since drawing at Wrexham, defeating Rotherham, Cambridge and Charlton all in the West Midlands, following a win at promotion rivals Huddersfield to end January. Chris Davies’s side also went toe to toe with Premier League side Newcastle United in the fourth round of the FA Cup, narrowly exiting the competition.

That was something that Orient also managed, leading last season’s Premier League champions before exiting the competition. Back in the league, Leyton Orient remain in the top six, but were beaten at Bolton Wanderers on Saturday afternoon and have seen their gap inside the Play-Off places reduced to just goal difference. The O’s had previously won three league outings in a row, including an impressive midweek result away at Wrexham. Richie Wellens’ side fought from a goal behind thanks to strikes from Kelman and Donley, having goalkeeper Keeley to thank following his stoppage time heroics for the ten-man visiting side.

East Midlands sides Lincoln and Mansfield had been dispatched in five days prior to the trip to North Wales, scoring three times in each. Their only league loss of 2025 came on the first day of February, losing to fellow promotion chasers Stockport County by a single goal. The O’s ended last month by putting six past Exeter away from home, in a month where cup action took its toll. After their original cup tie against Derby was called off, Orient did the business in the midweek that followed on penalties, setting up that plum tie against Manchester City.

Birmingham have won each of the past five against Orient, not losing since 1994, though they have only met once twice this century. One of those was the reverse league game back in August, where Keshi Anderson and Alfie May did the business for the away side inside the opening quarter of the game. Ethan Galbraith had briefly levelled after a quarter of an hour, and he’ll be hoping to add to his five goal contributions in as many games.
