1st Prediction For Luton Town v Plymouth Argyle: Match Result – Plymouth Argyle – 7/2

.
2nd Prediction For Luton Town v Plymouth Argyle: Over 2.5 Goals – 1/1
The defensive frailties of these two sides coupled with the magnitude of gaining three points in this relation scrap lend themselves to both teams attacking this game and not wanting to settle for a draw. Between them, on average, these two concede close to four goals per match.

Between them, only eight clean sheets have been achieved in 64 Championship matches this season meaning a shut out in this one is unlikely. Both sides will be desperate for the three points to boost their survival chances and plunge their rivals further into trouble.

Full Preview Of The Game: Last Results And Head-To-Head:
Luton Town head into this vital bottom of the table clash on a dismal run of form, having not tasted victory in any competition since beating Derby County 2-1 five days before Christmas, a run of 11 games.
New manager Matt Bloomfield has lost four and drawn two of his six games in charge since leaving Wycombe Wanderers for Kenilworth Road.
Last time out, Luton were beaten at home by league leaders Sheffield United with the Blades winning by a goal to nil. It was the second meeting with a promotion chaser in three days having lost 2-0 away at Sunderland earlier in the week.
One of only two points registered since the victory against Derby came at the start of February at Hillsborough when the Hatters held playoff hopefuls Sheffield Wednesday to a 1-1 draw.
Luton Town are bottom of the Championship having gained only 27 points from their 32 games so far. On average, the club have managed just 0.9 goals per game and their top scorer is Carlton Morris with seven with Alfie Doughty and Tom Krauss leading the assists on four.
Defensively, they concede 1.6 goals per game on average and have managed to keep only six clean sheets all season.
Plymouth Argyle had enjoyed a mini unbeaten run until they were defeated 2-0 at Blackburn Rovers on Saturday. That run had seen them gain an impressive, and dramatic, late point at Sunderland thanks to a 90th minute equaliser from Nathanael Ogbeta and a victory over West Bromwich Albion.
Those four points were followed by the huge FA Cup win over runaway Premier League leaders Liverpool and a huge league win over Millwall three days later by five goals to one.
The seven points from three league matches have given Argyle a chance of survival this season and means they now have 28 points from 32 games and are just two points from safety.
The Pilgrims have yet to gain three points on their travels this season and have taken 24 of their 28 points at Home Park. Top scorer Ryan Hardie misses this match meaning the goal scoring responsibilities fall to four goal attacker Mustapha Bundu who also happens to be the club’s leading goal creator.
Argyle have scored 34 goals this season giving them an average of 1.1 per game but have conceded a whopping 66, easily the most in the division.
Over the last nine meetings, Luton Town just come out on top with four wins to Plymouth Argyle’s three. It was Argyle, however, who ran out the victors in this season’s earlier meeting at Home Park.
Wayne Rooney led his side to a rare victory thanks to goals from Rami Al Hajj and a brace from man of the match Ibrahim Cissoko. Nigeria international and Premier League veteran Victor Moses pulled one back for the Hatters.
Prior to this season, the pair hadn’t crossed paths since 2018-19 when they were both experiencing hugely differing levels of success in League One.
The meeting at Kenilworth Road saw eventual league champions Luton demolish the eventually relegated Argyle by five goals to one. A James Collins brace, Elliot Lee and James Justin had put the result beyond doubt by half time before Collins completed his hattrick in the 77th minute. Joel Grant registered an 89th minute consolation for the Pilgrims.
The second game saw a far closer contest as Argyle managed to hold the champions to a 0-0 draw at Home Park in a season they would be relegated to the fourth tier on goal difference.
