Leeds United Plotting Moves For Two Premier League Stars

Leeds United manager Daniel Farke is keen to strengthen his defence, and Tottenham Hotspur’s Ben Davies remains a key target, as reported by TEAMtalk.

The Whites currently sit as favourites for promotion from the Championship, and their ambitions for next season are clear. Sources indicate that Davies’ ability to play both as a centre-back and left-back makes him an appealing option, especially with the uncertainty surrounding Junior Firpo’s future.

He’s not the only Premier League player they’re eyeing – it’s believed they may also move for Southampton’s Kyle Walker-Peters, offering him a top-flight lifeline when the Saints’ inevitable relegation is confirmed.

Why Leeds Are Targeting Ben Davies

The 31-year-old has been an important squad player for Spurs, but with the arrivals of Kevin Danso and Radu Dragusin, alongside Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero returning from injury, Davies is expected to leave in the summer.

Leeds had reportedly considered making a move for him in January, but due to an injury crisis at Spurs, Ange Postecoglou was unwilling to sanction a sale. Now, with Davies’ contract set to expire at the end of the season, Leeds could land the experienced defender on a free transfer.

Leeds Eyeing Full-Back Options

A new full-back is also on Leeds’ agenda, with Southampton’s Kyle Walker-Peters emerging as a possible signing. The Whites showed interest in January, but the Saints’ £7m asking price was deemed too high.

With Walker-Peters’ contract expiring in the summer, Leeds could revisit a move, but they are expected to face competition from Leicester City and Everton, both of whom want to keep the right-back in the Premier League.

Leeds Want an Attacking Midfielder

In addition to defensive reinforcements, Leeds are also on the lookout for a new playmaker. Sources suggest the club is tracking Krasnodar’s Eduard Spertsyan, Sheffield United’s Gustavo Hamer, and Manchester City’s James McAtee.

Leeds also retain an interest in Emi Buendia, who they considered in January before he joined Bayer Leverkusen on loan. His deal includes a €20m (£16.7m) option to buy, but if it isn’t activated, Leeds could step in.

Writer’s View

Leeds United are preparing for life back in the Premier League, and strengthening their defence will be crucial to survival. Signing Ben Davies on a free transfer would be an excellent move, as his experience and versatility would offer much-needed depth.

However, securing targets like Nico Elvedi and Kyle Walker-Peters will depend on promotion. If Leeds return to the top flight, they could be an attractive destination for players seeking a fresh challenge in the Premier League.
